"Do you think the scar will look cool?" "Khao..." said First and had to hold back his laughter. "I'm just saying. A scar from my thigh to my knee..." "Khao, that was damn dangerous." said First and sighed. "I was so scared of losing you, you lost so much blood." Khaotung nodded. "I know, my love, but I'm here." "Thank God." The two looked at each other and Khaotung reached out his hand to First and stroked his cheek. "We did it." First grabbed the hand that was on his cheek and smiled. "We did it." he said gently. "What about Aryas father?" "Rung told me that he's in custody. And Kamon is probably in a normal ward now, but is being guarded by the police. He took a lot of bullets. The policeman who stormed in hit him with three bullets in the leg, one in the shoulder and two in the stomach." "Shit, how could the bastard survive that?" "I don't know. But I don't know what I would have preferred to happen to him.. Hopefully he'll be convicted and serve his life in prison." Khaotung nodded and First sighed again. "Come on, I'll give you a sponge bath." he said and stood up, grabbed the bowl from the small table and took a washcloth from the bathroom.
He sat down next to his boyfriend and began to wash his arms, over his shoulders, to Khaotung's chest, until there was a knock on the door.
"Are we disturbing you?" asked Sun and grinned. "No, come in." said Khaotung, and Sun and his grandma walked in the room. "Oh my darling Khaotung..." "Grandma." "My angel, are you okay? My God, I was so worried...I brought you some clothes to change, your charger and some food." "Thank you grandma, for your help I mean." "Darling, no. I'm just glad you're here." She gave Khao a kiss on the forehead and stroked his cheek, which the young man enjoyed. He was terrified that he would never experience this again, that he would never be able to tell his grandma how much he loved her. Khaotung looked death in the eye and in the seconds before he fainted, he saw his life flash before his eyes. He saw his grandma, his parents, his dog. The memories he had made with First, Min-Joo and his friends. And he saw...
"Sun?"
Sun looked at him and nodded. "Thank you." said Khaotung. "I'm going to get a coffee, do you want some too?" asked First, but Sun and Khao shook their heads. "I'll go with you, my boy." said the older woman, leaving those two alone. "Sun.. I want to apologize to you.." "No, Khaotung, I have to apologize. I made you believe that I was the one who had something to do with the accident. I have lied to you since you were a child because I thought it was the best for you, but I only put you in more danger. You always had a right to know the truth and I denied you that. I am incredibly sorry and I really hope that you can forgive me someday." Khaotung looked at the older man. He had to hold back his tears and with a scratchy voice he breathed "I already have forgiven you." to Sun. The two looked at each other, neither of them could hold back their feelings. "Can I hug you?" asked Khaotung and Sun looked at him as if that was all he had been waiting for for years. "I missed you so much, Khao." "I'm so sorry that I was so mean to you. I wish I would've had you there in so many moments of my life. I wish I had known the truth." cried Khaotung and buried his face in Suns sweater. "We'll catch up on everything. We have so much to talk about," said Sun. "How it is at university, how did you meet your boyfriend. How have you spent the last few years." "You have to meet my son." said Khao suddenly and Sun backed away a bit. "You have a son?" he asked, startled, and looked at Khao, who just nodded. Suns initially startled look changed into a broad smile. "You have to tell me everything about your little family." Khaotung nodded.

The door burst open and Satang and the others stormed in. "Where is my brother?" Satang called out, agitated, and looked at Khaotung. Both boys immediately had tears in their eyes and the younger one threw his arms around the injured man's neck. "I was so worried." said Satang. "I haven't heard from you for days and suddenly I get a message from First saying that you fell down stairs?"
First didn't like lying, because he couldn't. He was a really bad liar and he always said that lies won't take you far.. But a little white lie was necessary sometimes.. They wanted to protect their friends and that was only possible if they only told them half the truth. "Here, this is for you." said Mix and gave Khaotung a hug too after he had pressed the bouquet into Firsts hand. "I was so afraid that Satang and I would lose our gossip buddy." "I'm fine considering the circumstances, don't worry guys." he said and the two of them let go of him. Mix went over to Earth and sat on his lap, but before Satang could leave, Khao held him tight and smiled. "The war is over." he whispered and Satang understood immediately. "Really?" he asked and could now imagine that Khaotung had not only fallen. The injured man nodded and Satang looked at him with wide eyes. "Thank god.." Satang whispered back."Khaotung, we brought you a little something too." said Namu and dug something out of her handbag. "My grandma owns a café and I managed to get some fresh pastries for you." Mark smiled proudly as he looked at his girlfriend and then at Khaotung. "Thank you." he said and looked at the others too. "Thank you for being my friends." he said and burst into tears again. "Ohooo, don't cry, my darling." said First and hugged him. "I didn't expect so many emotions." said Winny, who was holding his boyfriend, who was also crying, tightly in his arms.
"How about we change the subject for now?" said Mark, holding the hand of his girlfriend, who was also on the verge of crying. "How long do you have to stay in the hospital?" "I don't know exactly..." "Was your grandma here yet?" "Yes, she and my uncle left an hour ago." "Your uncle?" "Uncle Sun. I only recently made up with him." Earth nodded and Khaotung smiled contentedly. "I think my life will be easier now." he said and First nodded. "Now that you fell down stairs ?" Winny asked with a raised eyebrow. "P'Winny.." Satang giggled and held his hand over his boyfriends mouth. No one except the couple and Satang would understand, none of the others would know what they had been through in the last few weeks... But of course that didn't matter, because the only thing that mattered now was that they were safe and could look forward into a better future.
