Whelp we're finally here. It's time for the Pain arc. So go ahead and enjoy.
Breathing in, the gate guard relaxed. His shift was almost over and just like always nothing interesting had happened. Suddenly, he looked up as he heard 100s of charging feet. Before he could even shout out the army was upon the gate. Slamming his hand down on the warning bell, he struggled to grab a kunai. Gripping his blade, his head already fell at the rain of weapons thrown by dozens of men.
. . .
Forcing himself up, Naruto finished his pushup set. "Beat you by one," he grinned at Sasuke. "And I beat you at the jumping jacks by two," countered the Raven-Haired boy. "It's not that serious," said Kakashi, the lazy drawl back in his voice. "Says the one who lost to me," said Sakura with a hint of a smirk. "Mayb-Is that the Alarm bell!" said Kakashi, panicked.
"Yeah, it sounds like it," agreed Naruto, his playful mood gone. "Is Orochimaru attacking the village again?" wondered Sasuke. "Maybe it's the Akatsuki. They could be attacking just to try and capture Naruto," said Sakura. "Either way we need to strike back. Now!" said Kakashi to a round of head nods.
"If Sakura is right, I need to talk to Tsunade. She might want me to do something special if they're after me," said Naruto, making two clones to gather nature charka for him. "Good idea. I'll head to the Village gate to get a firsthand look," stated Kakashi. "I'll wait nearby as backup then. Sakura you should head to the hospital. Who knows how many people might get hurt," planned Sasuke. In a nod of heads, they all agreed as they leapt into action.
. . .
Kiba sat waiting not so patiently for Shino. "Come on already, you agreed to spar, so hurry up." Akamaru barked in agreement as Shino kept on stretching. Standing in their normal training grounds stood team Kurenai. Kurenai and Hinata were doing their own warmup routines as Kiba glared at Shino. "You don't need to str-WHERE THE HELL IS THAT SMOKE COMING FROM!" shouted Kiba pointing into the sky.
Where Kiba finger pointed there was indeed a thin trail of smoke. Activating her bloodline limit, Hinata looked at where he was pointing. "I see a crowd of people aroun-No wait they're missing-nins! They're killing people!" reported Hinata with a shout. "It would appear the village is under attack," stated Shino, his voice remaining calm. "Are you willing to hold off on our spar until after this, Kiba. "Hell yeah. A real battle is way better than some spar," grinned Kiba. "This is no time to play around," sighed Kurenai as they set off.
. . .
Shikamaru placed his shogi piece down on the board. "Your move, Sensei," he grinned knowing he would win on his next turn. Playing in their training ground, Ino and Choji were talking nearby. Asuma sighed as he moved his piece. "So, you win again," he groaned as he stood up. "Yep," said Shikamaru taking Asuma's king.
"Not like it's unexpected at this point," said Ino walking over. "Maybe if we had you play in front of Kurenai you would do better." Having found out about her Sensei's love life, she of course made fun of him to no end. "No thanks. Now then, it's time to start the real trai-The alarm bell," stated Asuma as he looked at the direction of the gate. "We're under attack."
Shikamaru, Choji, and Ino were all standing now, ready to battle. "Do you think it's the Akatsuki?" asked a worried Choji. "Well, we've already beat one of them, so what's one more," said Ino trying to control her breathing. "Tct, so what, that guy himself admitted he was the weakest," said Shikamaru forming an odd handsign. "What a pain," he said, sitting down.
"Don't worry, even if it is the Akatsuki we've got the Hokage and Jiraiya this time around," Asuma reassured them. "Plus, Naruto and his team," added Choji. "Yeah, they're really strong now...even Forehead," said Ino as she began to breath normally again. "Flame prison," blurted out Shikamaru. "Huh?" asked the rest of his team.
