Naruto the true godson of Jiraiya

Heading to Isobu

Alright here we are starting my favorite arc that I've written so far. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. So I'll let you go ahead and start reading. 

On the rainy and stormy day that team 10 and 8 led by Asuma left so did another. But they got off to a slow start seeing how their leader was late to meet them at the gate. His student knew where to find him though, which was why he was walking through the muddy cemetery. Stopping in front of the stone of honor which held the names of everyone that died in the Third Great Ninja War he saw his white-haired Sensei.

"Sensei we need to leave for our mission," said Naruto as Kakashi looked up at his student. "I know, just wait a bit longer, it's going to be a while since I can come back." "Yeah," agreed Naruto. "But you know if you just arrived earlier you wouldn't have to keep making up excuses for being late." Kakashi faced Naruto once more and he could swear that he saw his Sensei crying. "I have. I've been here since dawn."

Naruto stood shocked at that simple statement. These names on the stone he knew represented fallen friends, but he never thought it meant that much to his Sensei. "Are you visiting your teammates again?" he asked as he read some of the names on the stone.

"Yes." "How did they fall? You've never told me." Kakashi took a deep breath as he readied to tell his tale. "In an effort to save my teammate Rin my other teammate Obito was forced to sacrifice himself. Rin died over a year later by a trick from Kiri."

Naruto looked up at his Sensei again and this time he was sure that he saw tears. "My Sensei as you know died sealing Kurama into you." Naruto nodded his head. It took a good number of talks for Naruto to make peace with Kurama after learning about that. "Don't worry Kakashi-Sensei. I'll make sure no new names join this stone once I become Hokage." Kakashi looked up and gave Naruto his famous eye smile. "I'm sure you will.

Sitting in a camp in a small clearing around a stream was the team sent after Isobu. Digging through his pack Naruto grabbed hold of what he was looking for. "So, what's our plan?" asked Naruto as he watched water boil in the small pot they had over a campfire. Placing his easy make ramen into the boiling water Naruto faced everyone else at their makeshift campsite.

Much to his surprise though he saw them all looking back at him expectantly. "You're the one talking with the beast. So, you're the one in charge," said Zabuzu as Naruto didn't say anything. At that Naruto looked startled. Sure, he always knew he would have to lead a mission; he even led a mission with his Genin team. But the idea of leading a mission like this was still something he didn't expect.

"Well... I guess my plan was kind of to make up the discussion on the go," began Naruto only to get both Zabuza and Kakashi to almost glare at him. "But that's only for the discussion." Zabuza and Kakashi relaxed slightly knowing Naruto did have a plan. "I'll have clones waiting around and gathering nature charka in case things go bad. And you guys will wait around hidden to attack if I need you."

Naruto looked around trying to see if they approved of the plan. He knew it was simple and that Shikamaru would have a better plan in a second. "Basic," growled Zabuza. Naruto seemed to deflate at Zabuza's words as Haku spoke up. "Basic doesn't mean bad Naruto. It's good groundwork and what you will do is fine."

"I should be nearby Naruto. I can buy him time to destroy his shadow clones to get into sage mode. Then we can 2 v 1 the beast and we can win that type of battle." added Kakashi. "Fine then, me and Haku will be waiting in trees ready for when the worst comes about."
