The Root, and one falls

We've got all the fights set up now so we can get streaming rolling through them. This part has the end of two of them so read and enjoy

Leaping down from Gamabunta, Jiraiya cracked the ground he landed on. "Why do all the orange hair ones have the rinnegan?" questioned Ma, sitting on top of Jiraiya's left shoulder with Pa sitting on the other one. "No damn clue, all I know is that their powers are annoying," said Tsunade, while Jiraiya remained strangely silent.

"Have you learned anything about their powers?" asked Pa, keeping his eyes on Gamabunta who began to battle the three-headed dog. "The Fat one can absorb charka, Baldy can shoot rockets, Long Hair can steal souls, and that one, that one can summon animals," said Tsunade pointing at each Pain as she talked about them. "And the Main body can push stuff away."

When Tsunade finished talking, they ran out of time to chat. The Pains no longer being surprised of Gamabunta began to rush at them. Konan hung back as she quietly weaved hand signs. Jiraiya rushed forth to meet the Pains as Tsunade hung back.

"Jiraiya, I'll deal with the purple haired woman. Just keep the Pains off my back," said Tsunade as she rushed at the surprised Konan. Jiraiya couldn't reply as he was too busy spitting out a ball of flame. Slamming her fist on the ground, Tsunade barely missed Konan who dodged the blow.

Chasing after the purple-haired ninja, Tsunade kept her eyes open. But even with open eyes, she missed Konan placing a few paper bombs. When the paper bombs exploded, Tsunade was thrown back. This time Konan could see that her paper bombs did affect the Hokage. One patch of skin where Tsunade caught most of the explosion had completely fell off, but as Konan watched the piece of skin healed, until she looked good as new.

"Surprise," said Tsunade back on her feet already. "I'm the best medic in the world of course I have a way to deal with wounds mid battle." Konan didn't bother to reply as she tried to think of ways, she could harm Tsunade. Tsunade wouldn't give her such time though as in a blur of speed she closed in.

Running away Konan barely dodged each punch while trying to weave hand signs. When Konan finally completed her jutsu, Tsunade landed her first blow. Her fist met paper as Konan's body turned into a mass of paper. The papers flew away only to reform behind the Hokage.

Turning around, Tsunade was met with two papers as sharp as a kunai. Bending back, she could only dodge the first one. Her face took a mean looking slice as she backed away. The wound swiftly healed, as Tsunade readied for Konan's next jutsu.

Flying out of Konan's sleeves came a barrage of sharp paper that Tsunade had no time to counter. The bladed paper flew past her slicing away at any part of skin they could find. Closing in Konan was ready to end the battle with a final attack, so was Tsunade though. Before the Akatsuki member could react, Tsunade's fist slammed into Konan's face, sending the purple-haired woman flying backwards.

Before Konan could hit any buildings though, her partner saved her. The Main Pain held Konan in his arms while he glared at Tsunade. "I shall give you one final chance Hokage. Surrender now and give me the Nine Tails and you shall not suffer," stated Pain. "Naruto stays with us," declared Tsunade facing Pain. "Then you shall know the price of angering a god," said Pain as he gently placed Konan on the ground.

While Tsunade had her fight with Konan, Jiraiya was battling five of the Pains. He was struggling to keep up though even with Gamabunta taking on all the summon monsters. Ducking under another rocket, Jiraiya tried to just catch his breath. He wasn't on the top of his game. He was too worried, not about Tsunade, no about why all the Pains had Rinnegan.

Leaping back, Jiraiya faced the five Pains standing in front of him. They each stood ready, but they held back, waiting to see what Jiraiya might have been waiting for them. "Is it you, Nagato?" asked Jiraiya, his voice pained. He both hoped the answer to be yes and no. It would be wonderful to know he was still alive, but to think his student turned on to the path of evil.
