CLARITY

Orianna did came back to my chambers once she was dress, Hespeta was with her. I told them to go ahead without me, I needed a bit more time to myself before I be all eyes on me.

Now I am standing outside the double doors of the throne room where it will be hosting the ball. I can hear the music and the other elves talking loud in there.

I took a long sigh before I nodded at the knights guarding the halls, they took that as a sign. The two double big doors open; I step into the hall slowly as I look around inside that is lit up. Already I can feel the eyes on me and hearing the whispers about me. But as I spot the girls over on the drinks table talking among themselves, I start to make my way over to them.

As in every move I took every person seem to move out of my way as I past them not wanting to cause trouble with me. I was walking straight but as I turn my head feeling eyes on me not like every single eye was on me, but it felt different, and I wish to stab those eyes out. Xavier was looking at me a glass in his hand but as he put the glass to his lips his eyes stay on me while Eldric and Valerian was trying to have a conversation with him. I looked at him and hold my gaze but not long as I look away heading straight to the girls and picking a glass of whatever they were serving around.

"Clarity! Oh, your dress is everything I see in a colour" Hespeta said pulling me into a side hug quickly, I return it.

"Exactly what Orianna said" I said looking at Orianna who is trying to hide her grin in her glass, but it is clearly shown in her eyes.

"I'm not wrong, I'm the stylish around here" I could not help but chuckle at her words that were true.

"Umm, am I late or early or something?" I asked looking around myself to all the elves that come here tonight.

"Actually, you're a little bit late but also a little early" Hespeta said, that is confusing.

"I'm not going to asked what you just said" I shook my head closing my eyes for a sec then open them back up.

Whatever people describe balls to be like it's not what hit my imagination, instead to me balls are boring, and it drags on. I want to get out here the second I started talking to the girls and read in my bed chambers.

"Clarity" I lift my head up at the call of my name. Glassandra was walking towards me with a few lords and ladies by her side.

I put my glass down before I bow down to Glassandra then rise back up.

"Your Grace, thank you for arranging this ball" I said politely.

"Oh, this is nothing, it's all about you. I must say your dress is diamond of the night" Glassandra said making me giggle I will not get enough of being called that.

"Thank you" I replied back.

"May I interduce to you the lord and lady of Snowfall" I turned to the two lord and lady who in which were wearing matching clothes. I bow a bit down as they did back.

"Thank you for coming" I said if I keep smiling my face is going to drop.

"It's honour. Congratulations on your win I bet your mother would be proud of you" The lord of Snowfall said. I nodded trying to keep a smile even when my heart aches when every time I hear her name be mentioned to me. I need to find her; time is running out.

"She would be" I said nodding to myself. The lady Snowfall grab both of my hands looking at my features with a huge smile on her face. She was young like her lord but not too old.

"You look so much like her. Your mother. Yavanna was the beauty around the realms" She knows my mother. Her name they know who she is.

"You know my mother?" I asked squeezing her hands not too tight, but in hope for something new.

"Yes. She was the only one had auburn hair like yours, she inherit from her mother and now it past down to you. She was loyal and one my great friend" Lady Snowfall explain moving a piece of my fallen hair out of my eyes. I just met one of my mother's friends and told how much I am alike to my own mother.

"Umm, did my mother ever written to you at any point? Tell you where she is? Or where she's gone?" I asked my eyes filled with new hope that might help me.

"I'm sorry no. She has not written to me since the first demon elves war. She kind of disappear after that" She said. Well, I know that is the one thing she does.

"Yeah, that's what she's good at. Disappearing" I said with a tight smile on my face.

"I'm sorry. She did love cottages have your search in any?" She asked.

"Glassandra said they had a lead in a cottage not far from the river steam we're going to search there after the next full moon rises; demon elves have been searching out there lately" I said.

"We heard about them. Well, if you ever need allies or a friend our doors are always open. We are loyal to Glassandra and Yavanna" She said.

"And to you too, Clarity" Lord Snowfall said with a nodded.

"Thank you and the same back" I said. And with one nodded they walk away. I turn around with a sigh and walk back over to the girls which Eldric had join us.

"Well, what did the lord and lady Snowfall want?" Orianna asked.

"They knew my mother" I watch as their face look surprise at my answer.

"What!" Hespeta said.

"Yeah, they said I look so much like her and that my mother inherit her auburn hair from her mother, my grandmother" I said chuckling to myself.

"Well, did you asked if they know where she is? Written to them?" I let a long sigh leave my lips at Orianna's question.

"No. They have not heard from her since the first demon elves war" I said rubbing my arm.

"I was a babe when that war happened" Hespeta said.

"I think we all were" I said.

"Well, apart from Valerian he was in it, his an old man now" Eldric said teasingly.

"I heard that dick" Valerian said poking his head out of nowhere. I giggled.

"But they did say my mother loves cottages, I told we have a lead on that on the next full moon" I said.

"Careful we don't know if they are working for the demon king and report back to what we know" Eldric pointed out. He is right.

"We can't trust anyone around us that could be working with the demon king. We can't trust anyone but ourselves" I said looking around at my friends.

"So...we can't even trust ourselves and our swords" Valerian said. I'm that close to wanting to smack his head. Is he good inside?

"Are you that delusional assprick!?" Orianna hiss at him hitting Valerian at the side of his head making him hiss while rubbing where Orianna hit him.

"Valerian we can't trust anyone at all, and a sword is an object not a person" I said making a face.

"Well, I trust my sword better than anyone else" Valerian mumbled.

"Oh, for fuck sake!" Orianna said making her head fall back.

"I'm going to get another drink because this assprick is going to be the death of me" I said with a smile walking away from them all. As my back was turned, I heard another hard smack, hit from Valerian; pretty sure Orianna hit him harder than before.

Whatever I have to face to find my mother I will do all of it, I won't stop or rest until I know she is alive. But there is one thing I know for sure. My mother was one of them. An elf. She was friends with the lady Snowfall that is an elf then she must be herself. But I might or might not be one. Who even is my father to begin with? Was he even human? Or was he an elf too?
