CLARITY
The sound of my name repeatedly being called out. I can't open my eyes it feels so peaceful. It even feels as if I am in another life fall of happiness.
Peace.
"Clarity, Clarity my little bird open your eyes. Clarity" I can hear my mother voice calling me, but it must be in my brain playing tricks on me thinking my mother is by my side, which is all I ever wanted but it's me who has to find her not her find me.
I open my eyes slowly, the light hit my eyes as it was blurry, I can see a blur vision of a women with auburn hair like she is my mother in front of me. After a few minutes of blinking, I look up to where I was lying on a fresh grass smell of mint. I look back up and to my eyes I see her.
She had not change a bit in the years we've been apart, she still has her auburn curl hair that I got from, her beautiful blue eyes that the river reminds me. Her smile, the smile that remains in my brain it still there. And those freckles I got from her.
"Mother" I whisper sitting up, my eyes start to water that I did not know I would cry in seeing my mother again.
"There she is. Still my little adventuress aren't you my dearest love" Her voice it had not change.
"Mother is it really you?" I asked trying to be sure this is not a dream at all.
"Would I be able to touch you if I weren't here?" She asked grabbing my hand. I gasp at her touch, her soft touch it was the same, it was always cold at the finger tips but warm in the palms of her hands. It had not change she is here. My mother.
"Mommy" I said softy, my eyes fall on pour out as I reach out and hug my mother who pulled me into her chest feeling her smile.
"I'm sorry" I said, her fingers run through my hair that had fallen out of the tight braid and lay down on my back.
"It's okay" She whisper stroking my hair gently like she did when I was a child.
"I'm sorry I failed you. I tried I just wanted to find you and be brave and strong" I said my voice breaking in every word I said.
"Clarity look at me" My mother took my face making me look at her. She holds my cheeks tears also in her eyes.
"I am proud of you, my daughter. My beautiful angel, I have seen what you have done, and you have done everything you have tried, and I have never been more proud of you. I raised you to be who you are, and I sacrifice everything to see you happy, seeing you go and find me was the bravest thing I even seen. And seeing you go into the tournaments made me say that is my daughter, she is her mother's daughter" My mother said tears running down her face as she wiped my tears that dare fall, but they keep pouring out.
"You saw?" I asked her. Mother smiled up at me then press her lips on my forehead making me close my eyes at my face wet more of my tears that felt salty on my lips.
"I saw and was there through everything" My mother said. I did not know what to say. She has always been here, watching me and I never knew.
"I missed you" I said wrapping my arms back around my mother burying my face into her hair.
"I miss you too, my love" Her arms wrapped around my waist pulling me in more closer afraid to let me go and I'll disappear, I'm afraid to let her go and she'll disappear I can't lose her again. Not now, not ever.
"Wait are you dead? A-a-am I dead?" I asked looking around in the space we are in taking both of my mother's hand.
"I am not dead, and you are not dead too" My mother said.
