XAVIER
Never forget the last time I was here, the memories here was nothing but hell to me and it haunts my every day when you can't let it forget what it did to you. But I'm about to torture myself more with this girl going above the mountains to complete the trials while the hell keeps coming back to me. I can't forgive or forget what my father did to me, traumatize a twelve year old innocent boy who wants to live.
But I have seem to kill that twelve year old boy years ago.
My eyes keep on the back of Clarity's head, she had been mostly quiet on our travels and not even bitter to me with her sharp tongue she has. At time I would make a comment but right now I can't even bother, wanting this to be over as much as she wants it to begin.
As we have got to the top of the last deep step that could be a thousand steps to walk along; the only sound could be heard was our heavy breathing, her breathing was tired but still want to be strong, she can only be more strong if she trains more. She wants to find her mother then train to everything that could be easy.
"Umm... what are we waiting for exactly?" She asked moving a lost string of her auburn hair out of her eyes. I slightly rolled my eyes at her question but stay quiet.
"One of the Quiet Brothers to let us in" Hespeta told her which I can imagine without looking at her the confuse face she would make by scrunching up her nose and biting the corner of her bottom lip that is not good for her.
"The Quiet what?" She asked, my head move to turn to look at her as her violet eyes show of confusion.
"The Quiet Brothers, they are an ancient elves, like the older ones but they are ancestors to guide us to the light" Hespeta said.
"And also, to guide you to the darkness surround you" I mutter knowing she heard me.
"They have the power of showing things that you might not see but can't remember. Memory lost-" I then nudge Eldric as he finish what he was saying. He just told Clarity something that might kill her.
"Wait you say memory lost, does that mean they can help me see where my mother might of went deep in my head that I can't find?" I groan at her question. Now she is going to get ideas.
"That's if before it could kill you" I said to her, she rolled her at me that I so wish I could take her face and yell at her to not roll her eyes at me again.
"What Xavier means is, it's dangerous and involves blood" Hespeta said looking at her then at me then back at Clarity.
"Screw that, you want me gone as much as I want to leave, by looking into my memories is a step to finding my mother as much as the riddle song that the siren told me" She is not wrong with that I have to admit but messing around in here could be a closer way to her death.
"We are not here to be messing in people's heads" I said then knock loudly of the giant door.
"He is right Clar, wait after the trials and see what Glassandra thinks about the idea. We need to go by her orders" Hespeta said. Knowing my sister, she might agree to something dangerous like that.
"Remember don't freak out when you see them" I told her and before she could even asked why the double doors open.
One of The Quiet Brothers has open the doors for us, he had a black cloak around himself with his hood up.
"The trials. For Clarity Riverwood" I said slowly to him, he nodded then look over my shoulders.
"Right this way" He spoke in his mind without moving his lips.
This is how they all talk by speaking out loud, but not moving their lips, as if they were a mute, but not.
We follow The Quiet Brother into the halls which I remember well enough in what happens stays here.
We then stop to come face by the leader of The Quiet Brothers who which they were whispering in their mind to one another. I look over at Clarity to see her standing close to Hespeta holding her hand; I can't help but clutch my jaw up tight.
"Clarity Riverwood" One of The Quiet Brothers call out. She stands tall but I think I could hear her heart beating, beating at unhuman speed.
"Yes" She said stepping forward, trying to be brave and confident, but I know her body language so well. She don't need to be afraid.
"We welcome you here, your next trial starts at dawn, we have a chambers ready for you to sleep in. We wish you luck, by the gods eyes guide you" Clarity breathe out at the words but with a nod at his finish words.
"Thank you" She said to him.
With that said we head to our separate chambers unlike me that knows my way around here so well. As I turn the corner to head to my chambers, I see Clarity and I caught our eyes, we lock with them which felt longer and as I keep looking my eyes at her it then meet the wall I when past.
She won't survive these trials without me and what she might face could be life threaten to her. It's a good thing I have trained her to get stronger than her weak self might think.
