Chapter Forty Four

XAVIER

I might not remember all this tomorrow, but I pray that she would keep this locked in her memory as long as she can remember. Our footsteps crush against the grass, surprisingly I did not need to slow down for Clarity who is running faster than me and is in heels. I hold a tight hold onto my sword in any way that demon elves could be out watch.

The night maybe dark but the moon and stars can guide us to the light. Clarity dropped her sword as soon as we got to the black lake where the sirens our at. Without hesitation she dropped to her knees fast and put her hands in the lake.

"What are you doing?" I asked her looking around quickly in case anything looks off.

"Sending a signal" She told me.

"Please work" She whisper to herself.

A few moments when by nothing was heard or seen but the lake light up. It was a white glow shown around us giving us light. But no sirens were heard or seen.

I huff to myself thinking this was a waste of time and the more we wait here the more Glassandra is going to kill us. Me more than Clarity.

"They're not here" I told her. Clarity let a long sigh leave her lips before she stand up.

I watch as Clarity move her hair to the side and undid her dress revealing her back to me.

"What! Are you doing?" I asked her my hands out to her. She turn to face me as she kicked off her heels.

"The sirens will only talk to me; I spoke under water to them so that is what I need to do. And Hespeta and Orianna will kill me if I ruin this dress" She said. I sigh as I shake my head, but I did not hide the smile that is written on my face. She would do anything, and I mean anything to get what she wants, get the answers she needs.

Clarity dress then drop down to her legs only showing is her corset and her undergarment. My cock throb at the sight of seeing her, I felt my throat dry up and my breathe caught in my throat. I had to swallow hard at the sight of her.

I should not be doing this; I hate her but god damn! There can be things I could do to her right now.

Clarity turned around starting to walk to the edge of the lake it gave me a good chance to look at her ass from behind. And as she start to step in, I watch her walk in and in until she was chest deep level.

"Anything" I called out to her. I took of my cloak and rolled up my sleaves on my arms showing off the shadow veins up my arms.

"Just give a few minutes!" Clarity shout back I can feel her eyes roll at me.

And just in a few minutes I watch as Clarity eyes rolled back, and her body float up with a big gasp leave her lips.

"Clarity!" I called out, I jumped in the lake like I did before and swam as fast as I can up to her.

I reach her, Clarity was floating about, her hair wet and lay out in the lakes water, her mouth hang open and her eyes where rolled back but was glowing not what I seen before, they were a fire colour you would see.

"Clarity! CLARITY!" I scream holding her as I shake her body to wake up.

This terrifies me, I never seen something like this before and I have no idea what to do. She don't feel like in pain, but I cannot tell what is going inside her head.

In what felt like forever to me Clarity's eyes when back to her normal violet eyes and it seems as she was back, but her face was pale and wet.

Her whole face tells me that whatever has happened has scared the fuck out of her.

"Hey, it's me I'm here" I said as she look around to where she is. We were still in the black lake, wet around us. One arm of mine was wrapped around her back for support and the other was around her legs, under her knees keeping a tight hold onto her.

"What happened?" I asked her. Clarity was still gasping but she was fine even if her breathing was heavy.

"I saw" She whispered looking into my eyes.

"I- I saw the war" She said. The war that is happening does she mean?

"The second demon elves war. It's going to happened and loads of us will die" She said but it seems I'm missing something that she is holding back.

"There is something else, isn't it?" I asked her which she nodded in response to me.

"My mother. She is alive I saw it and she is the one who will save us all" I look down at her seeing tears start to pour out of her eyes. I wipe my thumb before the tears could slip down her face. They were not sad or fear tears that they should be. They seem like happy tears to her.

She always had hope that her mother is alive, but if it is true then we can be close to finding her.

I lifted Clarity up in my arms and swam close to the lake shore as it was no longer deep, I swoop her up carrying her bridal style until we were safe out of the lake.

War is coming as I said and what Clarity sees but none of us might not survive in what we have lost in the first demon elves war.
