CLARITY
The room felt hot, hotter than it was it was almost felt like I was set a light on fire but the heat I feel was anger. I don't want to see him cause all he does is ruin everything for me. What does he even want with me? Can't he go and bother some other girl around here?
"What do you want?" I said more like asked giving a sarcastic smile to him. I heard him chuckle to himself as he look at me up and down wetting his lips, it made me shiver the way he looks at me I would rather have someone else then him look at me.
"Enjoying your night, little hunter?" The smirk was still written on his face. Something was funny with him as I know he is that close to want to laugh. Perhaps he is drunk out his mind and want someone tonight.
"I was until you came along" I huff before I told him.
A song then played again, I look around seeing a few elves dancing but not a lot, Morgan had walked off to talk to Hespeta who was standing against the wall.
"Will you dance with me?" I don't know what I heard but it sounds like that Xavier Ravenwing asked me to dance nicely.
He must be real drunk to be like this. He outstretched his hand for me to take; I look down at his hand and look at his eyes in which they were pleading for me.
"What?" I asked confused what was happening.
"Dance with me?" He asked again.
"Please" He plead with his eyes soften. I never seen his eyes soften like that. He is always cold, cocky, serious all the time that I hate him so much. But his eyes soften like he is going to cry begging for me.
"If I dance with you one time, will you leave me alone for the rest of the night?" I asked my eye brows raise in question to him.
"Yes. I will leave you alone. Just one dance is all I'm asking" He said. I sigh to myself before taking his hand.
It felt different, it was not like Lucius' hands they felt soft and almost gentle, but I need to remember it was his hands that were wrapped around my throat back in above the mountains.
Xavier and I walked to the dance floor and as we stop in the middle, he took one of my hand and wrapped it around my arm, his other hand wrapped around my waist. I gasp as a shiver run up my spine at the feeling of his touch.
Hearing the whispers and eyes on us as we dance around each other. Dancing around as a circle until we took each of our hands spin under and grab our hands. I forgotten where I am, and I forgotten who I am. My eyes were on the one person I hate and I'm dancing with him. It is wrong when I want to rip off his throat but again how would I survive this alone.
"Are you drunk?" I asked as a few elves fill the dance floor also dancing. It was almost like a crowd.
"No" He answer straight. I chuckle at the answer.
"If I was drunk, I would not tell you this" He started. We stop dancing as he pulled my arm to the side. We were face to face, chest to chest. We were so close that we were breathing down each other.
"War is coming" He said. I'm so confuse what war is coming.
"What?" I asked, eye brows frown.
"The second demon elves war is coming. The demon king wants you and he won't stop until he gets what he wants" Xavier said. He was whispering every word in my ear in hope that no one would hear.
"What does he want with me?" I asked. I look up at Xavier looking into his eyes trying to read them.
"Your mother. It must be something to do with your mother he wants" Xavier said. It could be but what does my mother have anything to do with this.
"What would my mother have that he didn't?" I asked shaking my head.
"You" I'm still so confused.
"Look think about it. Your mother hide you from this world, she never told you about us elves or stories about us, she abandon you when you were a kid, you saw me under the invisibility shield, your mother changed her name to hide from this world so he wouldn't find you" Xavier explained.
"It can't be true" I said in disbelief. I look up at Xavier we were inch close I can feel our lips brush against our skin. Our hands still hold each other and not letting go. The elves around us was still dancing ignoring us.
"I wish not, but you said someone wanted you dead that put you in the trial, someone must be working with him" Xavier said like he don't know I know that.
"Yeah, but who, we can't trust no one but ourselves" I looked back into his eyes, my lips part apart, they were dried up as well as my throat.
"You need to leave. Leave this place" He said he can't be serious? I can't leave not without my mother.
"What? No, not without my mother" I said.
"She could be working with him or dead what's so ever" Xavier gritted his teeth.
"She's not working with him, and she is not dead" I said back glaring at him. Xavier took a long sigh leave his lips before looking back at me.
"Please, I'll take you to the Shadow Court you will have protections, and he won't find you" Xavier said. I never heard of that court, yet I have not seen it on the maps or read in the books.
"Shadow Court?" I asked him.
"Fuck" I heard him whisper to himself rolling his head back.
He then took both of his hands and grab my face; my head was thrown back as I was then looking up at him with my lips parted open.
"Don't tell a word about the Shadow Court, it's secret" He said I nodded.
"I'm trying to help you, save you" Xavier said whispering those words down across my lips I can feel those words against my dry lips.
"I don't need to be saved" I said, I'm not even sure if I need saving or not.
I always know I could save myself but what if I need saving from people, I don't know who is my enemy or my friend.
"People will die in this war" He said.
"How do you know? Have you seen it?" I asked.
"No. But the sirens have" I gasp when Xavier said that. The sirens can still help, they can give another riddle song to figure out.
"The sirens! We need to see them again" I said.
"I'll come with you, but we must be quick. The demon elves are still out there" He said.
"I know but we need to know what is going to happen" I said.
I then grab Xavier hand without thinking, we slip past the ball without anyone watching us and out of the doors, and into the night sky fall with stars and moon light. The cold breeze air hit us.
Xavier past me a sword as he grab one himself I might not like Xavier, but he is the only one I need to figure what is going on and where my mother is.
And if war is coming the only people who will be able to see the future is the power of the sirens.
There is no turning back.
