CLARITY

Pacing back and forth as I'm waiting before I be brought down to the pit for my final and last trial. I may be ready but I'm nervous what I will have to face down there.

As I was walking about in the room, I heard a whisper of someone calling out my name, I frown my eye brows together as I quietly open the door to find Lucius there.

"Lucius what are you doing here?" I asked my eyes wide open.

"I had to see you before your trial" He came in and shut the door behind.

"You really shouldn't be here the trial will start soon" I said.

"I came to tell you. It's snakes" My eyebrow frown confuse what he mean by snakes.

"Your last trial is snakes in there" My lips part as a sigh leave my lips.

"Are they poison ones?" I asked turning back around to look at the golden eyes lord.

"Could be" Lucius said. I let a chuckle leave my lips.

"Listen you can win this thing I know you just need to find there weakness have you read anything that can use against them" I pause for second or so trying to remember if I read anything about snakes. But I remember a book I found in the library about snakes and what to do.

"I remember reading a book about them. I know what to do" I said looking up at him.

"Great!" Lucius said taking both of my hands.

"And maybe. Perhaps after this we could grab a drink at the pub" Lucius scratch the back of his neck like if he is nervous, but he don't look nervous at all. He even looks confident.

"We'll see" I answer.

I then lead Lucius to the door, so he don't get in trouble. After I close the door, the trial was just about to begin as the Quiet Brother sent me out and down to the pit. Ready to face the snakes.

***

The dirt I felt under my feet felt different this time; I was ready. I did not care about the crowd cheering for me this time it was like it when in one ear and came out the other. Like an echo. I saw the bow and arrows this time, but I did not go for it, I did not ran to grab a hold and use it against. I slowly stood in the centre waiting for what Lucius told me, before the snakes to come out.

I close my eyes and take a deep breathe in. The sound of cages open up was heard but I did not open my eyes straight away I open them when I heard the hissing off them.

There were different ones, brown ones but the green ones were my favoured ones. I always liked the green snakes when I use to go out hunting at time to time.

When they start to close a circle around me, I did not move I stayed calm even when my heart is beating out of my chest. It's best to stay calm and not panic they will attack you if you panic.

They start to run up my legs slowly I start to sing a song it's a weakness I read about. Singing to them.

My arms were out as they wrapped around my body hissing their tongues out at me. They felt weird but I'm not scared.

Soon it was like all their bodies gone numb like they were asleep. My eyes look up and they darken like a victory I am. Hespeta looked at me scared, but proud at the same time of me. Most were surprised but as I look at him. Xavier, I could not read him. He is hard to read, I don't know if he even care, but he just has his arms cross.

"It's over! Let her out!" Someone shout out. That I have won.

"Let her out! Let her out! Let her out! Let her out! Let her out! Let her out! Let her out!" They chatted for me. I smile big while slowly walking around to not wake the snakes up. I might have won!

"Silence!" One of the Quiet Brothers said the crowd when quiet.

"Clarity Riverwood. I hear by announce victory of the three hundred decade trial tournaments. Congratulations" I have won. I have done it and survive. Cheers were heard and elves chatting my name as victory.

I can go back to Mireworth Fortess and carry on finding where my mother might be.

One of the Quiet Brothers came down to the pit and gave me a pin of a snake on it with a proud smile on my face. I thanked him.

I then did not notice that Hespeta came and jumped at me wrapping her arms around my neck. I laugh at her while Eldric stand next to us smiling at my victory.

"You did it! I knew you could do it!" Hespeta said loudly.

"No, we hoped I could do it and I did!" I said then wrapped Hespeta in another hug with a smile showing my teeth.

"We can go back to Mireworth Fortess now" I said in relief to see Glassandra again.

"Yes, we can go home" Hespeta said. Home.

But it's not home for me it maybe for them but my home is somewhere to be found.

I have survive the trials without dying that quest is over. Next, I need to carry on finding my mother.

I will find her.
