Hannah and Kenzie started spending more time together. Whether it was at Kenzie's place or Hannah's, the two women always managed to get out a bottle of wine and talk about everything.
That night, the two were sitting on Kenzie's couch. Kenzie placed down her glass of wine on the table as she continued talking. She didn't notice that Hannah was glancing between her lips and her eyes.
Kenzie looked up, noting Hannah's stare. "What is it?"
Hannah just laughed. "God, you're beautiful."
Kenzie smiled at her. She looked down for a quick second. "So, wh–" Hannah started to lean in. Kenzie glanced up and pulled back. "What are you doing?"
Hannah pulled back, embarrassed. "I'm sorry. I totally read this wrong."
"I..." Kenzie didn't know what to say. This has never happened to her before. She liked Hannah. She didn't want their friendship to get even more awkward.
She was pulled from her thoughts when Hannah got up. "Wait. Where are you going?"
"I'm going home," said Hannah.
"No. Come on. Stay. At least, finish your glass."
Hannah politely smiled at her. "I had a nice time tonight."
"Hannah."
"Don't worry, Kenzie. I just need to... think and go home."
"We'll talk tomorrow, right?"
"Maybe."
Kenzie watched as Hannah packed up her things and walked out of the house. She sighed, resting her head on the back of the couch.

Kenzie walked into the bullpen, still thinking about last night. She knew she shouldn't be thinking about it this hard. But she'd never thought she would make a friend who didn't know a lot about her. But, she took her mind off of it when she received a text from Lilly, talking about their mother-daughter date later tonight.
"Morning, Kenzie," said Patrick.
"Hey, Patrick," Kenzie greeted back, not looking at him.
Before he could say anything, Fischer walked up to them. Kenzie sent Lilly another text message before putting her phone away.
"Hey," greeted Fischer. "We just got a call from the Forest Service. They caught a body in Sam Houston National Forest. Abbott wants you guys to go check it out."
Kenzie placed her hands on her hips. "How far away is that?"
Fischer hummed. "100, 120 miles." Kenzie sighed. "Is there a problem?"
"No. No."
"She has plans for tonight," said Patrick. "She's worried about getting back in time."
"Really?"
"It's not that big of a problem. We'll reschedule."
"Nonsense," said Patrick. "Doesn't the FBI have helicopters? Can't we just take one of those?"
"I guess, i-if it's available," said Fischer.
"That's not necessary."
"Nonsense. We'll be up and back in a jiffy. Just tell Lilly she owes me one."
Kenzie looked at him as he walked away. "What would a 15-year-old owe you?"
"Ask her about the bet a couple of months ago."
