Patrick sat back down with Lorelei at the casino.

"Accept his friendship."

"It's that easy?"

"Sure. Uh, he'll want to speak to you first, make sure you're on the level, if that's all right."

"Yeah."

"And you'll need to bring him a gift to show your respect for him."

"What kind of gift?"

"Well, Mackenzie Patterson's body would be the perfect thing. Alive, of course."

Patrick rushed over to her and gave her a hug. Confused, Kenzie returned it, placing her forehead on his chest. "You okay," she asked.

He kissed her temple and leaned into her ear. "Good luck, Kenz. Love you."

She looked up at him. "What?" She gasped as Patrick plunged a needle into her collarbone. She slumped into his arms. He caught her and picked her up.

Lisbon put the car in drive and started driving, but was stopped by a black SUV. Multiple FBI agents get out of the car with their guns raised.

"FBI. Turn off the car and show me your hands," yelled an FBI agent.

"FBI! Nobody move!" exclaimed another one.

The team and Nicole got out of the car. "CBI! Don't shoot! We're CBI agents," said Rigsby.

"You're making a terrible mistake," said Teresa.

"Get out. We're in the middle of an operation."

The limo stopped in front of Patrick. He grabbed Kenzie and held her as Lorelei walked up to him.

"Hi," he greeted.

"Hey," said Lorelei. "That the gift? She's pretty."

"Red John in there?"

Lorelei hummed in response. "He's looking forward to speaking with both of you. You know, Patrick, there's a childish hopefulness about you that is really quite adorable."She turned to one of the bodyguards. "Put her in the car."

He looked up in the rearview mirror to see Red John sitting in the backseat with darkness covering his face. Kenzie was lying in his lap, still unconscious. He nervously gulped before looking back at Red John.

"'Go to hell' goes without saying, so, yes, nothing."

"As you well know, Patrick, there is no hell. When I die, I won't be punished. What if you really did have a change of heart? What if you, me, and Kenzie were friends? Imagine the life we could lead. It's a higher path, Patrick. A nobler existence."

Patrick quickly glanced at Kenzie again. "Like I said, go to hell."

Patrick stumbled off of the ground and ran to the limo, pushing his way through the agents. He opened the other side and pulled her out of the car. He carefully placed her in his lap, trying to wake her up. His face fell at the sight of Wainwright's blood on her forehead.

Kenzie moaned as she slowly woke up. Patrick smiled at her. "Hey. Hey."

"What happened?" asked Kenzie. Her eyebrows furrowed. "Why am I sweaty?" She reached for her forehead. Patrick grabbed her arm.
