Chapter 27 - Made To Suffer
Kadyn's POVFaint voices can be heard outside of the walls, but I can't understand what they are saying.
Glenn and I are sitting down, backs pressed against the wall. Glenn hasn't said anything really, but looks like he is in deep thought. His expression is still angry, but it has softened.
I study his face carefully, taking in all of the bruises and cuts - courtesy to Merle. Glenn turns his head to look at me, and catches me staring. He then opens his mouth to talk.
"Kadyn, did he.."
"No." I cut him off quickly. "No, he didn't."
"All this time running from walkers, you forget what people do, and have always done." Glenn sighs.
"Look at what they did to you!" I say, but Glenn shakes his head.
"Doesn't matter. As long as he didn't-"
"No, I promise." I reply, gently cutting him off again.
The voices outside grow louder and louder. I subconsciously grab Glenn's hand, looking at him with my eyes wide and full of fear.
Glenn stands up, wincing, and walks over to the corpse of the walker he killed. With a grunt of pain, he pulls out a bone in the arm, snapping it so it's sharp on one end.
He does the same to the other arm, and then hands me one of the newly created weapons.
"Just in case." Glenn says softly. I nod back at him, gripping the bone tightly in my bloody hands.
"They're coming." I whisper to Glenn urgently. We stand up and get on either side of the doorway.
The door swings open and three men enter. Immediately, Glenn and I attack.
The one I attack is one of the men that was in the room with me, the one who had cut me.
I ram the sharp end of the bone straight into his throat, twisting it. With a sickening sound, the man dies. I pull the bone out of his throat and turn to find Glenn, who had already killed the other two men.
"Hey!" I hear Merle's voice bounce off of the walls. He runs up with a gun in hand, along with a few other men with guns.
"Drop the weapons!" Merle demands, aiming his gun at me.
I reluctantly drop the bone, and Glenn copies me.
"Get them!" Merle orders the men, and they grab us before we can get away.
"Hands behind your back!"
"On your knees, now!" Merle demands.
The men force Glenn and I down onto the ground.
I grab Glenn's hand, looking at him worriedly.
"Just keep looking at me," Glenn breathes, and tears start to fill my eyes.
"I love you," I sob, and suddenly a bag is placed roughly over my head.
I close my eyes and anxiously wait for the gun shot. Instead, I hear some rattling, and then everyone starts yelling.
I yank the bag off of my head, and see immediately that everything is smokey.
"Get up! Let's go, hurry!" I hear Rick's voice, and help Glenn up to follow it.
Rick gets on one side of Glenn and I get on the other to help him walk quickly.
We run out of the building. Maggie, Daryl, and Oscar are there. Daryl immediately hands me a gun.
