Chapter 13: Pretty Much Dead Already
I wake up the next morning to the sound of the other campers talking, and the sound of the camp fire crackling.
The other survivors were eating breakfast, but me and Glenn were still in our tent. I don't know how much people are up. Besides, Glenn's sleeping body is warm.
I snuggle deeper into Glenn's chest, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. The tent was lighter now, since the sun was up. I hear Glenn sigh, and mumble a little bit as he wakes up.
Glenn looks down at me snuggled into his chest, and I smile sleepily up at him.
"Morning," I say, stretching.
"Morning." Glenn replies, yawning.
I sit up, stretching my arms and my back.
I reach for my boots and pull them on. Glenn just lays on his side, watching me. Strands of his black hair falls into his eyes as he watches me.
"You comin'?" I ask, standing up.
"I will in a few minutes." Gleen replies, closing his eyes again. More of his hair falls into his face as he rolls over onto his stomach.
"Kay. See you then." I smile at him, unzipping the tent flap and exiting.
I zip the tent flap back up, and turn around, heading to the campfire where breakfast was being served.
I take a bowl from Lori, who smiles at me. "Sleep well?" She asks, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
"Uh, yeah?" I giggle innocently.
"I saw you go into that tent with him. Don't tell me there's nothing going on between you two."
"There's not! Honestly. Yet." I smile at her, taking a bite of the food in the bowl, which tasted like some kind of rabbit stew.
"Yet." Lori winks. "Don't be afraid to tell me anything. I'm always here to talk."
"Thanks." I reply, smiling and walking away.
"Morning, Daryl." I greet Daryl, who's sitting in a chair alone.
"Morning." Daryl nods at me.
"How's your... um.. injury?" I ask, giggling while trying to motion to my side, the place where he had been pierced by the arrow.
"Good," Daryl says, taking a bite of his stew.
"Good." I reply, patting his shoulder gently as I walk past him to my chair.
I can see Glenn's tent from here, and currently, he was climbing out, looking as cute as ever. His black hair was messy and fluffy - and it looked extremely soft from here. Yawning, Glenn shoves his navy and white baseball cap onto his head before strolling over to Lori to get a bowl of stew.
She starts talking to him, and he looks down and smiles. No doubt, she's talking to him about what we were talking about. Glenn looks around and spots me. He smiles at me, and takes a bowl of stew. Then, he starts walking over to me.
"Morning." I smile at him as he sits down.
"You've already told me good morning," Glenn teases.
"It doesn't hurt to tell you again, does it?" I reply. "It's like whenever someone continues to sneeze and you repeatedly tell them bless you. It doesn't hurt to bless them!" I rant.
Glenn smiles and shakes his head. Then, he looks around us and back at me. In a more serious tone, he whispers to me. "I'm going to tell the group." He says, nodding unnoticeably to the barn behind us.
