Chapter 15: Triggerfinger

Kadyn's POV

Carl was finishing his work at the table as Maggie, Patricia, and I prepare dinner. Beth was still in shock.

"Done!" Carl says, putting down his pencil.

"Okay, you can go now. But stay in the house." I tell Carl, making sure he heard my instructions.

Carl nods. "Got it." He gets up and leaves the table, leaving only the three of us women in the kitchen. The rest of the group was either inside or by the camp outside.

I bite my lip worriedly, thinking about Glenn. They should be back by now. It was already dark. And Lori wasn't back either, wherever she ran off to.

"You okay?" Maggie asks softly, looking at me curiously.

I start to nod my head, but shake it instead. "No." I whisper.

"What's the matter?" Maggie asks, setting napkins on the table.

"I told Glenn I loved him." I mumble, and Maggie smiles. Her happy expression falls when she realizes I wasn't smiling.

"And?" She asks.

"He didn't say it back." I sigh, filling cups with ice.

Maggie frowns. "He was probably shocked. Maybe that was the first time someone said that to him." She reasons.

"Hope so." I reply, sighing softly.

"Kadyn, he does love you. You can see it in him whenever you're around him." Maggie assures me.

I smile slightly. "Thanks."

"Any time." Maggie smiles back.

"So what about you and Joey?" I ask, wiggling my eyebrows.

Maggie blushes. "We're pretty close."

"Oh, you girls!" Patricia sighs, smiling at us. "I remember my young love days." She smiles, and we giggle together.

Glenn's POV

I look at Tony's dead body, slightly shocked at what had happened. "Holy shit," I mumble, and Rick looks at me.

"You alright?" He asks.

I nod. "Yeah."

"Hershel?" Rick asks Hershel, who nods.

"Let's head back." Hershel says as we nod at each other.

I go around the bar, stopping at Dave's dead body and taking the pistol he was showing us.

Rick takes bullets from Tony's body.

As I stand back up, headlights shine in through the windows. "Car! Car!" Rick whispers, and we run to the corners. "Get down!" Rick orders. I press my back to the wall, waiting.

I hear footsteps outside, and hold my breath, closing my eyes.

"Dave? Tony?" A voice calls.

"I'm telling you, man, I heard shots." Another voice says worriedly.

Rick, Hershel, and I look at one another nervously.

The people outside continue to walk around, calling for Dave and Tony.

"Stay close,"

"We're gonna find 'em." A deep voice says.

One of the men steps in front of the window in the door, casting a large shadow into the bar.
