Chapter 53: No Sanctuary
Glenn's POV
(don't worry I'll have Kadyn's POV in the next chapter probably)"Y'all know what to do." Rick notifies the group in a low voice. "Go for their eyes first. Then their throats."
"Put your backs to the wall on either side of the car now." A man's voice calls from the outside of the train car. The noisy footsteps on the roof signify the presence of the man even more.
Everyone hesitates, holding back their breath. I feel a small hand grab mine anxiously as I back against the cold wall. Kadyn moves closer to me, and I can feel her trembling in fear.
I run my thumb over my the back of my wife's hand in a way of reassurance. Fear and adrenaline course through my veins. All I want to do is protect Kadyn and the rest of my friends. I have to.
Suddenly, the darkness is replaced by a bright light, and something is dropped into the box car. I crane my neck to see, pulling Kadyn closer to me in a protective manner.
"Move!" Abraham yells, but when we scatter away, it's too late. The gas bomb already hit us.
I can feel myself falling, and the shrieks of my friends echo in my dizzy head.
I hear my name whimpered from beside me, and recognize the voice as Kadyn. But before I can form a response, the door of the box car is opened, and I am jerked violently out.
My head is throbbing in pain and I'm thrown onto the concrete. I'm too weak to push myself up and fight back, and before I can think to move my legs, I feel a sharp pain on the side of my head and everything goes black.

Gray.
That's what I see when I come to my senses. Gray, metallic walls. I blink a few times, trying to clear my head. There's a gag tied around my mouth.
A sharp edge is digging into my ribs, and as I look at the gray metal, I realize it's a sort of trough. The smell of blood is overwhelming, but the trough is clean.
My hands are tied behind my back, along with my feet. I figure that out when I try to move. I look to my left, seeing strangers. All male, the three on my left seem to be regaining consciousness as well.
To my right I recognize Daryl, and next to him is Rick and Bob. I catch Rick's eye before I hear a few voices.
The Terminus men come into view. One holds a baseball bat, and another holds a large butcher knife. I recognize Gareth nearby, along with another man who stands next to a table.
The gag in my mouth is tightly tied, and I can feel the skin around my lips starting to chafe. The two men holding the weapons walk around behind us. My heart pounds louder, and sweat drips down my forehead.
In the next few seconds, the man swings the bat, hitting the first kneeling guy in the head. The man with the knife jumps forward, yanks the unconscious man's head back, and slits his throat. Bright red blood spatters the walls of the trough. The liquid seeps down the basin to the drain. I watch as it flows down the drain, the fear making my stomach hurt.
The butchers leave the slaughtered man slumped forward against the trough, head bowed low into the basin.
The same thing happens to the next man, and I start to tremble, knowing I'm about to be next.Kadyn won't even know what happened to me. She won't get to say goodbye, and she won't get a body to bury. If she makes it out of here - God, that's all I want..
The third man is slaughtered, leaving me as next in line. I clench my teeth together tightly, eyes squeezed shut and hands balled in fists. I brace myself for the impact and pain, but instead it never comes.
