Three Years Later
"For the last time, I do not want any visitors today, were cooperating with two more
Ministries to solve this case let us do our job." Her voice rung clear and full with authority as she walked through the endless halls of the Russian Ministry heading towards her office with quick steps to toe off the following reporters, fighting for a sliver of information. She closed the door behind her and let herself rest against it for a short minute before her peace was disturbed."I take it that went well." Theseus's teasing was whispered in the empty room and she
playfully glared at him as she fell into his arms and sat on his lap."They are dreadful."
"Truly horrid."
"Do not jest, I am being honest."
"As am I, my love. The other day they found me at the grocery store, in the fruit aisle." Hesaid as he buried his face on the crook of her neck drew a calming breath. "I missed you."
"We were together this morning." She said as she laughed at his antics even when she found then awfully endearing and craved them like the Earth craved the light of the sun. his deep blue eyes stared softly at hers conveying undying love and mischief as his fingers lightly hovered over her sides before attacking her with kisses and tickling her the way he knew that unbashful squeals of laughter would ring in his ears and breathless pleas for him to stop
mixed with his chuckling with echo throughout the room. She was healthy, gained a much- needed weight that made her glow and seem impossibly beautiful, her eyes were lighter and calmer than they had been in years and he prided himself in his accomplishment of taking care of her. She was stronger and happier and that was visible. Everything was back on track and his mother's ring that was sitting at the bottom of the whiskey cabinet in his office was proof of that. He knew he had to wait until she was ready, their relationship was
unorthodoxical as it was, they had been dating for four years and yet there was no ring in neither of their fingers. He liked what they currently had and he didn't want to ruin it with big proclamations of love. They were together that was all that mattered to him. His mind travelled back to the turning point. The transfer."What do you mean I'm being transferred!" She had shouted to him.
"My supervisor has requested that you be transferred to the branch closer to her for more... direct communication." He says. His eyes had been wide, a small tremor took over his right hand. For a former airforce major to show nervousness and especially him, she must be something. The new Minister of Magic that is.
"Have I done anything wrong?" She had said innocently, a slight pout on her face that he wanted to kiss away.
"No, in fact you've been the best worker here. That's why she wants you." She pinched her nose adorably in the way that reminded him of that small girl he dreamed almost every night.
"Is there anyway out of this?"
"I'm afraid she's made it exceptionally clear that there isn't."
"Fine. What's the address?"
"The head Auror office of Russia."
Ever since then gradually and steadily she had grown back to the woman he had loved since his old school boy days. What had sealed the deal was their vacation in Greece where he had glimpse back at that infuriating Ravenclaw that always talked too excitedly for new things or things that she was interested in. She had dragged him at every landmark and historical sight they could visit at the short seven days that had been whisked away from the office. Her skin had tanned gradually giving her a healthy Mediterranean glow that made her look like a goddess worth of all the statues he spend his days stating at as she talked his ear off and he heard her affectionately, willing to talk him to death if that was the price for her radiant smile. The exact same day they returned to a gloomy London he headed to his mother's apartment asking for her ring. At the end the decision hadn't been his.
Because there he sat, kissing with her in his lap like frenzied teenagers that hadn't experienced such a thing before. It slipped out, he hadn't meant to say it. "Marry me." The words were barely a whisper at the tops of her lips, yet it still made her stutter in her movements and draw back to stare at him, her kiss swollen lips a deep red that called to him like a magnet, his chest was rise and falling rapidly at an uneasy pace as his anxiety clouded his eyes and his thoughts.
