Her heart skipped a beat, and she slowly lifted her head from where she had buried it against her knees. She didn’t move, but her eyes followed him as he stepped inside, his figure silhouetted against the dim light from the hallway.

Why? she wondered. Why was he here?

She looked into his eyes, immediately sensing the signs of intoxication. His pupils were slightly dilated, the faint smell of alcohol lingering in the air between them. Yet despite the haze of drunkenness, there was an unsettling clarity in his gaze—he wasn’t fully intoxicated. His body and mind were still under his control, and that realization sent a shiver down her spine.

"What do you want?" Natasha asked, her voice steady, filled with defiance.

Fear had never been a shackle for her. Since childhood, she had wrestled with her beliefs, ultimately losing faith in a higher power. She had faced the darkness of life on her own, learning to confront her fears head-on, except for one lingering shadow that haunted her heart.

Yuvaan’s expression remained cold, a mask of detachment that belied the turmoil beneath the surface. Without warning, he lunged forward, pushing her back onto the bed with a force that stole the breath from her lungs. In one swift motion, he pinned her hands above her head, the weight of his body pressing her into the mattress.

"Let go of me, Yuvaan!" Natasha shouted, a mixture of anger and desperation lacing her voice as she struggled against him.

"Our marriage ended three weeks ago," he replied, his voice low and dangerous, a growl that resonated deep within her. "And yet you’ve denied me the first night." With that, he buried his face into the crook of her neck, his breath warm and heavy against her skin, sending an involuntary shiver coursing through her.

Natasha fought against his grip, pulling at her trapped wrists, but he was far stronger, every muscle in his body coiled with tension. She twisted her body, desperately trying to break free from his hold, but Yuvaan, growing impatient with her resistance, released her wrists only to grip her hips, forcing her to remain still beneath him.

As soon as her hands were free, she pushed against him with all her might, but it was futile; he barely budged. Defeated and out of options, she stopped resisting, her body going limp, surrendering to the overwhelming sense of power he exerted over her.

After what felt like an eternity, Yuvaan finally pulled away from her neck. He sat beside the bed, his eyes closed as if he were trying to shut out the reality of what he had just done. A wave of realization crashed over him—he had tried to force her.

Once, he had been a different man—full of hope and dreams, untainted by the bitterness of life. But the weight of responsibility had turned him into someone he barely recognized, a figure shaped by anger and a thirst for revenge.

He glanced at Natasha, who lay unmoving on the bed. Something about her stillness caught his attention, and he studied her face closely, noting the delicate features that had once drawn him to her. Her chest rose and fell in a gentle rhythm, her breathing even and peaceful. She had succumbed to sleep, the effects of the pills she had taken earlier finally taking hold.

Yuvaan felt a mix of emotions swirling inside him—anger, regret, confusion. He watched her for a moment longer, his thoughts racing. Then, he turned his gaze toward the balcony, where the moon hung low in the sky, casting its silvery light over the garden fountain below, illuminating the water as it danced in the cool night air.

"Your pale face won’t deceive me, Natasha," he murmured to himself, bitterness dripping from each word. "I know your true nature. You’re cunning, manipulative, always two steps ahead. I’m aware of the plan you’ve been scheming all along, plotting your moves like a master chess player. But I’m waiting. Waiting for the moment everything unravels, so I can take my revenge, piece by piece. And I’ll start with you. You will get exactly what you deserve."
