Next day....

The rays of sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Yuvaan stirred slightly in his sleep, the gentle warmth brushing against his skin making him squint against the brightness. He groaned softly, instinctively turning away from the light, but something pulled at him, compelling him to wake. As his eyes fluttered open, he was momentarily blinded by the morning sun.

Once the haze of sleep began to lift, he turned his head and his breath caught in his throat. There, beside him, lay Natasha, her features softened in the early morning light. Her hair fell in tousled waves around her face, framing her delicate features like a halo. She was peaceful, her lips slightly parted and a hint of a smile playing at the corners of her mouth as she slept, oblivious to the world around her.

He couldn't help but study her, captivated by the serenity that surrounded her. It was a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions that had raged within him the night before. He remembered vividly the raw confessions they had exchanged-words steeped in pain, longing, and hope. They had laid bare their hearts, exposed their vulnerabilities, and made a decision to give their marriage a chance, to embrace the love that had flickered between them despite the chaos of their past.

But even in that moment of tranquility, an unsettling feeling gnawed at Yuvaan's insides. He traced the outline of Natasha's face with his gaze, the memory of her laughter and tears from the previous night replaying in his mind like a haunting melody. There was so much he wanted to protect her from, so much he needed to understand about the both of them before fully diving into this new chapter.

He recalled the way her eyes sparkled when she spoke of their future, the tentative hope woven into her words. "Together," she had said, her voice trembling yet resolute. The sincerity in her gaze had ignited something within him-a fierce desire to be the man she deserved. Yet, that same fierce desire was now tangled with doubt.

As he lay there, a flurry of thoughts began to cloud his mind. What if they couldn't escape the shadows of their past? What if the pain they had inflicted on each other was too deep to heal? The thought was like a chill running down his spine, and he shifted slightly, propping himself up on one elbow to get a better look at her.

The way she lay there, serene and unguarded, only intensified his internal struggle. He had hurt her deeply; the scars from their tumultuous relationship were still fresh, even if they had chosen to move forward. How could he ask her to trust him again when he was still grappling with his own demons?

He reached out, brushing a few strands of hair away from her face, his fingers trembling slightly at the intimacy of the gesture.

Yuvaan groaned softly as he pushed himself out of bed, careful not to wake Natasha. The events of last night, the confessions, the promises-everything was still fresh in his mind, but there was something colder tugging at him. He stretched for a moment, feeling the tension in his body, and moved silently across the room. His face remained expressionless, his emotions locked away as he entered the bathroom and flicked on the light.

The bathroom was grand, with marble floors and counters gleaming in the morning light. He stood in front of the sink, turning on the faucet and letting the cold water run for a few seconds. Cupping his hands beneath the stream, Yuvaan splashed his face with the cold water, trying to erase the remnants of sleep and the emotions lingering from the night before. The sharp chill of the water stung his skin, but he welcomed the sensation-it was a reminder of who he was. The man who couldn't afford weakness, even for a second.
