With that final plea, Natasha disappeared into the shadows of the city, carrying with her the fragile hope that, somehow, Yuvaan would find his way back to her.

And for the first time in her life, she prayed that the gods were truly listening.

The tension in the air was unbearable as everyone sat anxiously in the waiting area outside the operation room. The sterile, white walls seemed to close in, amplifying the gravity of the situation. The red light above the door blinked steadily, a cruel reminder that their loved one was still fighting for his life inside. Fear was etched on every face, and though the room was silent, the weight of their emotions filled the space. Silent tears streaked down Meera’s cheeks as she clung to Vihaan’s arm, her nails digging into his skin as if she could hold back the inevitable with sheer will.

Rudra paced back and forth, his footsteps muffled by the sterile hospital floor. His normally composed face was twisted with fear and helplessness, emotions he had never learned to handle. Meera leaned against the cold wall, her hands trembling uncontrollably as she wiped her tears away, though they kept coming back. Vihaan sat with his elbows on his knees, his head buried in his hands, unable to do anything but pray in silence.

The doors to the operating room suddenly swung open, startling everyone. The doctor rushed out, his face pale and tight with worry. It was the kind of expression that sent a fresh wave of fear through them all.

"What happened, doctor?" Vihaan was the first to speak, his voice hoarse, his body tensing as if bracing for the worst.

The doctor took a deep breath, visibly struggling to keep his composure. "We... we don’t know what to say at this point," he said, his voice quivering with barely suppressed panic. "He’s in critical condition. Right now, he’s between life and death. We don’t know if he’ll survive the night."

The words hit like a sledgehammer. Meera felt her legs go weak, and she leaned more heavily against the wall, gripping the cold metal railing for support. Vihaan’s jaw clenched, his knuckles turning white as he balled his fists. Every word the doctor spoke seemed to carve a deeper wound in their hearts.

The doctor continued, "We’re preparing for an emergency operation, but I have to be honest with you... there’s no guarantee he’ll make it through. It’s the only option we have, but the risks are high. We need the family's consent to proceed."

Meera’s heart pounded wildly in her chest, the world spinning around her. She looked over at Vihaan, her eyes wide with disbelief and fear. Vihaan met her gaze, his own eyes glassy with unshed tears. It was as if time had stopped for a moment, the weight of the decision pressing down on them like an immense burden.

Meera swallowed hard, her throat dry and aching. Her voice was barely a whisper, but it was laced with desperation. "We’ll sign it. But if anything happens to Bhai... if he doesn’t survive this…" She stepped forward, her shaking hands reaching for the clipboard the doctor held. Her eyes burned with anger and despair as she added in a choked voice, "I will kill you myself. I swear it."

Her words were raw and filled with the kind of pain only family could feel. Vihaan, standing beside her, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, though his own fingers trembled. He looked at the doctor, his expression hardening. "Do everything you can. No mistakes," he said in a low, controlled voice, his emotions barely contained beneath the surface.

With trembling hands, Meera scrawled her name on the consent form, her fingers barely gripping the pen properly. Every stroke felt like she was signing away a piece of her soul. Vihaan took the form next, his movements more steady, but the fear was clear in his eyes. Once the papers were signed, the doctor gave them a tight nod, then hurried back through the doors, disappearing once more into the room where their brother's fate hung in the balance.
