Rudra felt his world tilt on its axis, the walls of his reality crumbling. The sister he had always looked up to, the one who had been his protector, had taken the life of someone who had meant so much to Meera. "But... why?" he whispered, his voice barely audible, as if speaking too loudly would shatter the fragile truth.

Rudra's mind raced with conflicting emotions. Anger, betrayal, and a deep sense of loss battled within him. "I can't believe this," he murmured, shaking his head. "My own sister?"

In the dimly lit room, the air hung thick with tension. Shadows danced across the walls, their flickering forms a reflection of the unease between the two men standing face to face. Dev’s heart pounded in his chest, his jaw clenched tight as he stood before Yash. His head was bowed, eyes glinting with a mix of anger and frustration. The dim light revealed the strain on his face, veins pulsing under his skin as he struggled to contain his emotions.

“What do you want from me, Yash?” Dev’s voice was a low growl, barely restrained.

Yash, lounging casually against the wall with a cruel smirk twisting his lips, met Dev’s gaze without a shred of sympathy. His eyes gleamed with malice, relishing in the power he held over the man before him. He leaned forward, his voice dripping with arrogance and cruelty.

"I need you, Dev, until I reach my goal," Yash said, his words cold and deliberate. "Or maybe… you’d like me to pay a little visit to your sweet little family? Hmm? Especially your precious Raina..." His lips curled into a predatory smile. "She’s quite the sight, isn’t she? So pretty, so... sweet. Sexy too. It’d be a shame if something happened to her."

Dev’s breath hitched, his fists tightening at his sides. The mere mention of Raina's name, spoken with such vile intent, made his blood boil. He hated the way Yash said her name, hated the way his eyes gleamed as if he could see right through Dev’s rage and straight into his heart. His fingers curled into a tight fist, nails digging into his palm as he fought to keep control.

"You will not touch her," Dev spat, his voice trembling with barely restrained fury. Every word felt like a warning, like a ticking time bomb ready to go off.

Yash’s grin only widened, completely unfazed by Dev’s reaction. He straightened himself, stepping closer, his gaze locking onto Dev’s with a cold, ruthless intensity.

“Oh, but I could, Dev,” Yash whispered, his voice dropping to a venomous tone. “I could do anything I want to her, to your family. Unless... you play along, follow my every command. You don’t get to make demands here, I do. And if you dare step out of line... well, you can imagine what’ll happen.”

The threat hung in the air, sharp and cutting like a blade. Dev’s entire body tensed, fury coursing through his veins. The thought of Raina, the love of his life, being in danger because of him—because of this man—was unbearable. His chest heaved, breathing ragged as he tried to keep his composure. But his mind raced with images of Yash’s words coming to life, of harm coming to those he loved.

He wouldn’t—couldn’t—let that happen.

Swallowing his pride, Dev took a step back, his fists still clenched, but his posture stiffening in reluctant submission. "I'll do whatever you need me to," he finally said, his voice tight, "But if you lay a finger on her, Yash... I swear, I’ll kill you."

Yash chuckled darkly, his smirk never fading. "That's the spirit, Dev. Now, let’s see how far you’re willing to go for the ones you love."

Everyone was seated in the grand dining room, patiently waiting for breakfast, but it wasn’t the food that kept Dev distracted. His eyes remained fixed on Raina, who sat across from him, laughing and chatting with the others. Every smile, every small movement she made stirred something inside him. Yash’s words echoed in his mind, a chant that wouldn’t let go: You need to decide. She's slipping away, and soon you’ll have no say at all. Dev wasn’t sure what to do, but he couldn’t shake the unease building in his chest.
