ODDS OF LOVE - SEASON THIRTEEN

Spencer settled down in his chair with Miracle asleep on the sofa , watching one of the neighbors singing better than he had thought she could on Rebel. He also was trying to call his father for the second time in the past few minutes. Each call kept going to voicemail.

During lunch in his chambers Richard sat behind his desk eating one of Nigel's delicious roast beef sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread and trying to call his father. It just rang and rang until it went to voicemail.

Faith sat upon a bench on the campus common grounds , studying from a textbook and fighting off more nausea as she called Andrew. She had changed her mind. She had asked DuBuis to walk her down the aisle as her only brother and he had said yes before he cried. And , she still wanted that but she also wanted Andrew to escort her too. As it rang and rang until the voicemail clicked on suddenly she furrowed her brow in bemusement while leaving a brusque message: It's Faith. Call me.

Nigel was shocked to receive a long distance call from someone he had not talked to since his stepson Lewis had been shot.

Lewis' mother Tania Kaye was on the other end of the line, practically bubbling over as she said merrily ," Hello, Nigel , darling ! How are you? Heard about your little health issues, dear. Hope all is well. I have the most wonderful news ! I wanted to tell you first because you know how Richard can be. His aura can be so very dark. All that tension from work I suppose. Anyway, love , Wilson and I are moving back to the states ! To Maryland. We have a lovely house in Evergreen Acres. Doesn't everyone live there? Well except for you and Richard. Pity. "

Nigel wanted to laugh. He usually did whenever he had moments with Richard's second wife, she of the crystals and aura viewing and many exotic hobbies. " You're moving back? I thought your husband was working in Japan now. "

Tania laughed perkily. " He was but now he's going to teach a class in computer science at Yancy Woodward Memorial College. He's so excited. It's a new experience for the dear love. But since we're moving back Wilson and I think it's beneficial for dear Lewis to live with us now. Of course he can still attend Barrington Academy. "

Nigel almost dropped the phone on the kitchen floor he was so shocked. " You're what...... You want Lewis to live with you now? "

" But ,  of course , dear Nigel , he is my darling only child after all. Do get Richard to be reasonable about it. You know how he can be. "
