Spencer sat in his wheelchair on the screened in front porch chatting with Winston and Nigel who both sat on the porch swing. In the corner of the porch rested the playpen where Miracle sat in it playing with her building blocks and baby doll.

Nigel lifted up a cup of hot tea high in the air. " Here's to my gorgeous husband Richard, your hunky hubby DuBuis and that new cousin of yours Aiden whatever locating Andrew. In spite of the idiot sheriff over there. "

Spencer smiled widely and lifted his own cup. " Agreed. "

Winston raised his own up as well. He took a deep breath and forced out," Yes..... I agree. "

Spencer took a long drink of the hot liquid. " I feel exhausted. I'm so glad Dad is back though. I was starting to..... to think thoughts I probably shouldn't have. "

Winston looked at his brother in sympathy as Nigel nodded and said briskly," Like about losing him? "

Spencer paused as he was lost in his own thoughts. Then he murmured softly," Yes. And, not just losing him like after the custody battle so long ago. Something more permanent. I felt.... scared. "

Winston said quietly," That's ..... normal. Nobody wants to think .....
about losing their parents. Especially decent .... ones. "

Not ones like his own  father , Winston thought to himself. His and Spencer's father actually. Reilly Arnett. Senator Reilly Arnett. He wanted to laugh when he thought that with Andrew Norland's own paternity drama reveal it meant he was the man's cousin. Which made him Spencer's cousin too as well as half brother. He shook his head with a bemused look on his scarred face. Talk about a twisted pretzel of a family tree. It was amusing though to think about his very frightening Uncle Bernard actually having a past that involved lost love and an out of wedlock child. It made the man seem..... oddly..... human.

" That's true," Nigel said as he waved at Miracle who giggled at him and waved back while calling out," Unca Ni !Unca Ni ! " " Speaking of custody battles has your brother mentioned that Tania is back and wants full custody of Lewis ? "

Spencer almost choked on his tea. " What? No. He has not. Not at all. Why would she want that ? Tania isn't a bad person. I liked her more than Beverly and Sarah but as a mother she was not very..... very ...... I guess I would say interested? What does Lewis say about it? "

Nigel pursed his lips solemnly. " Lewis doesn't talk much to anyone lately. He writes everything in his journal from his therapist. Nobody reads it though. It does seem to help him I must admit. Less nightmares. But .... he did say he didn't want to have lunch with her today. She showed up this morning too bloody early wanting to have breakfast with him. I don't relish telling Richard all this. "

Winston opened his mouth to say something but it failed. Not because of his speech issue, he found, but due to a sudden wave of dizziness that hit him. It was so intense he had to grab hold of the side of the swing to steady himself.

It was intense enough that both Spencer and Nigel noticed with Nigel asking," You alright there , matey ? "

Winston nodded as it gradually passed over him. " Yes.... I'm...... I'm fine. "

Spencer watched his brother carefully.
