Kai's POV
the familiar scent of the slums fills my nose as my horse walks closer and closer to the edge of the scorches.
I can't wait to get back to Pae. her belly has probably grown so much since I last saw her. she should be around 19 weeks pregnant now, God I miss her beautiful face. I have only been gone for 3 weeks but it feels like forever.
my ass hurts from sitting in this damn saddle and all I want to do is hold my wife in my arms, so when the horses reach the slums and start walking closer to the castle gates I am practically jumping with joy.
if Jax didn't check on her every day like I told him to, I am going to kill him. if Kitt even talked to her we are going to have problems.

Pae's POV
I am sitting in our room reading when I hear horses. I get up and run over to the window and I see him, riding his horse looking handsome as ever. his beautiful hair and his strong arms, God he is so amazing. how is this man my husband.
I forget about shoes and I rush through the castle to the front door. it takes me a few minutes to get down all the stairs and to run through the halls. the imperials open the door for me and I run to Kai just as he is getting off of his horse.
he wraps his arms around me and picks me up swinging me around as we kiss. "I missed you so much" I mumble against his lips.
he sets me down but keeps out foreheads touching and his hands resting on my waist. "I missed you more" he whispers. we stand like that for a second before he pulls back and looks at my stomach. "oh my god you have grown so much since last time I saw you"
my face drops "wow, are you calling me fat?"
his eyes widen "no no no. I would never ever call you fat, I meant it in a good way, you are so gorgeous. you are growing our baby and it's so beautiful. the most beautiful woman in the world" he says as he covers my face in kisses.
I laugh as he picks me up bridal style and carries me into the warm palace. It's still so cold outside so being in the warm castle feels nice. once he sets me back down we walk in the direction of our room.
we get stopped a couple of times by people talking to Kai but eventually we get to our bedroom. Kai closes the door once we get in and his hands immediately go to my hips. "I love you so much, and I really really really missed you" he says as I wrap my arms around his neck.
"I love you too" I say before he leans down and kisses me softly. before I know it my back is against the wall and my legs around his hips and he is kissing my neck, throat, and shoulders. it gets harder to breathe as he walks over to the bed drops me on it and climbs on top of me.
and once again we are tangled in each other's arms, kissing, breathing hard and sweating, just as we were before he left. I scream his name so many times I can't even keep track and he tells me how beautiful and wonderful I am over and over and over again.
God I love this man, my husband, my love, my partner and the father of our child.
