Ava

Pae's POV  

"Oh my God she is so tiny" Kai says with a big smile as he holds Ava in his arms as she sleeps. 

I gave birth 5 hours ago and I am so happy. does it hurt to breathe, talk, eat, walk, drink and pretty much do anything? yes, but something I realized when I was holding Ava for the first time is I would go through all the pain a hundred times if it meant we can have this.  

I got about an hour of sleep while Octavia cleaned all the blood and other shit off of Ava. now me and Kai are sitting on our bed with our backs resting on the bed frame. Kai is holding Ava to his bare chest to keep her warm and I am resting my head on his shoulder. 

I can't stop looking at her, she looks exactly like Kai. Ava has his gray eyes, dimples, nose, and pretty much everything else. the only thing she got from me is my hair, the shortest little silver hairs cover her head. she is so beautiful, I can't believe we made this precious baby. 

"she didn't feel so tiny when she was coming out" I say to Kai and we both laugh silently. "I really shouldn't be laughing, it hurts" 

"you did amazing, I'm so proud of you" Kai says kissing my forehead. "I love you so much"

"I love you too" I say and I am about to kiss him but there is a knock at the door. 

"come in" me and Kai say at the same time. Octavia, Jax, Andy, and Mak all come in. me and Mak haven't really talked since our fight during the first trial. I think Andy invited him, something might be going on with them but I don't really know. they all come over to the bed. 

"so this is the thing you guys were making when I walked in on you" Andy says looking at Ava. "Kai you sure it's Paedyns kid? looks nothing like her" 

"oh shes mine believe me I was there when she was born" I say 

"so name? what's her name? I want to know the name" Jax says and he is practically jumping. 

Kai sighs and stands up with Ava still in his arms. "if it was up to me she would not have this middle name but I'm not the one who gave birth to her. rub this in anyone's face and I will kill you" Kai gently hands Ava to Jax making sure he is holding her right before letting go. Jax has the biggest smile on his face as he holds her. "meet Ava Jax Azer" Kai sighs 

Jax slowly looks up from Ava to Kai's face.  "you named your kid after me? you do realize I was joking about that right?"

"yeah well its kinda too late for that" Kai sighs. "and no calling her Jax, her name is Ava" 

"Ava?" everyone turns to the door and we all see Kitt standing there. he looks like he hasn't slept in days. "you named her Ava?"

"yeah we did" I say 

Kitt looks like he is broken and he walks out of the room not saying anything else.

Kai's POV

God I love this baby. 

Ava is only 1 week old so she is keeping me and Pae up almost all night. I wanted Paedyn to get some rest so I took Ava outside to the gardens when I got the idea to take her to the willow tree. 

now I am sitting under Ava's tree with Ava in my arms. she is looking up at the leaves with her big gray eyes while I tell her all about her aunt. 

"Ava would have loved to meet you, your grandmother would have also loved to meet you. maybe someday in the far far FAR future you will meet them. I wish they were here, you would have loved them." I look down at my beautiful baby girl as she holds my finger with her tiny hands and continues to look into the tree. "I wont be like him, I promise you. I wont let anyone hurt you. I am going to be there for everything, your first steps, your first words, I'm not going to miss anything. I am going to protect you with my life because you and your mother are my life" I whisper to her and she moves her eyes to my face for a second before looking back into the tree. 

"Sir... I mean Your Highness?" I hear an imperial say from behind the leaves of the tree. 

why the hell is he calling me 'Your Highness?' "what do you want?" I ask as I stand up and walk over to him. 

"your Highness" he bows "you are needed in the throne room" 

"why?" 

"because sir Kitt has abdicated the throne and you are the King now, your Highness"
