As we enter the common room, Ron slumps down on the couch while I walk around just taking in the room. I'd never been in any of the other common rooms long enough to see what they truly looked like. Cedric always picked me up from the Slytherin common room before dates or we hung out in my dorm. He never wanted to be the reason for me getting in trouble, so it was less risky for him to go to my dorm. He could always just say that 'he snuck in' and I 'tried to stop him'.

The only time before this that I'd been in the Gryffindor common room, was when we celebrated Harry's victory in getting the golden egg during the tournament last year, but I wasn't there long enough to really get a feel of the room. I mean, each common was created to be so unique and true to its house theme and colors. It was fascinating to see the difference between them all.

While we wait for Harry to eventually show up, Hermoine paces back in force in front of the fireplace. I decided to inspect all of the themed trinkets and other decor in the room. I find myself observing a taxidermied armadillo when Harry finally enters. He walks into the common room with his hands dug into his trouser pockets and lets out a sigh.

"There you are! What took you so long?" Hermoine interrogates, her hands on her hips like a mother scolding her children for stealing candy.

"Me? Oh I-" He starts, looking at the door then back at Hermione before she cuts him off.

"Never mind that! We have more important things to tend to. Sit." She demands, resuming her pacing by the fireplace.

Harry looks at me and I just shrug in response, taking a seat on the couch next to Ron, while Harry chooses to sit in a random chair behind the couch.

"We're not learning how to defend ourselves, were not learning how to pass our owls... she's taking over the entire school!" Hermoine complains, ceasing her relentless pacing to stare us down.

"Yeah, well poison should do the trick." Ron comments with a smirk.

"Don't be silly Ronald. Life in Azkaban at 16 won't do us any good." Hermoine scolds, crossing her arms as she thinks about what to do in her head, a scowl plastered on her face.

We sit in silence for a moment, taking in the information when Harry hears something interesting and turns up the radio.

"...Furthermore, we have convincing evidence that these disappearances are work of notorious mass murderer, Sirius Black." Fudge's voice rings through the common room.

"I can't with this nonsense the ministry is spreading..." I ramble, chewing on my nails.

"Harry!" A voice whisper shouts interrupting the broadcast.

We all look around the common room in search of who it was, but Harry seems to know where it's coming from.

"Sirius!" He shouts, running over to the fireplace. We all follow suit and gather around to see his face in the flames.
