Below your body, you managed to fold up a makeshift bed in the room next to Cecilia's. The only thing you can feel was the pain that struck your ankle constantly since a couple hours ago. Cecilia's training took a toll on you, urging your body to rest itself for the rest of the day.
Turning on your side, you heard the sound of paper crunching against eachother in your pocket. Sitting up, you dug your fingers into the cloth, pulling out the long-forgotten piece of paper. It still lingered with the smell of the prison.
The paper was a torn piece of a gardening for beginners book. Only a small assortment of letters and words were readable on the page, but you were able to gain some important insight.
"-often used in battle to weaken enemies, sometimes to kill. Wolfsbane, when ingested by humans, causes the heart to slow immensely, even from a small amoun-"
It was like something had awakened within you the moment you put the pieces together. The fact remains that your mother was an expert in poison, so it should be clear just how intelligent that woman is. But even so, there's no way you can trust a woman you met who was supposed to be your blood mother.
A shuffle came from your door, making you quickly shove the piece of paper into your pocket and letting your head fall back onto the rough pillow. Turning to the door, it creaked open with Cecilia's bright greens peaking through the gap.
"Hey," she spoke quietly. "I made dinner. My dad is... somewhere. I don't know where. He just kinda disappeared."
Her figure made it's way through the room, setting the plate of food onto the creaky table. You watched as she sat herself on your bedside. When you sat up, you were met with a bowl of potato soup. You had to admit, it looked more appetizing than the past soups you've had.
Silently, you grabbed the warm bowl and brought it to your lap. "Thanks..."
She gave you a nod before looking at the wall in front of her. "Training. Tomorrow morning and afternoon," she stood up and opened the door before looking back at you. "Reiner is gonna be there."
