Chapter Twenty

Double Lunch Date

Marjorie's POV

I finished my breakfast, and I went and got the twins ready for their day with Siobhan and Viv, as I headed downstairs with them, Siobhan and Viv were already here, and they were talking to Reece.

"Good morning my loves" Siobhan and Viv turned around to look at me, I was holding the twins, Reece took Jack from me, and we got the twins in their car seats, Reece had already packed a bag with a change of clothes and nappies in, I had expressed breastmilk and got it ready, I explained I had mixed formula in as well and they are due for another feed in 2 hours. As they were about to leave, I said "Siobhan, we were wondering if you and Viv would be God parents to Kate and Jack? We have decided to have just the two sets of God parents for both, Autumn and Winter, and You and Viv if you agree" they both stood there stunned "Yes, we would be honored to be the God Parents" replied Viv

I could see Siobhan was crying "I....I can't believe you would ask me"

"You are one of my oldest friends why wouldn't I ask you?" I hugged her then they took the twins out for the day. The house was quiet, I went and poured myself another cup of coffee then I sat in the kitchen and chatted with Reece about our plans for the day.

We went upstairs to get ready, I opted for jeans and a checked shirt which I tied at the waist, and my wedge shoes, not too much make up and I tied my hair back, Reece wore his usual Jeans and hoodie, and we headed off into town, for some quality time, we were meeting Charlotte and Mia at 11.30 am so we did a bit of shopping, I had to stop Reece from buying more toys for the twins, we came across a record fair, I bought some records that I will enjoy listening to when we get home, then we walked hand in hand to the cafe to meet our friends.

Chalotte and Mia were already inside when we arrived, we entered the cafe and walked over to them. "We have ordered your lattes" Charlotte said as we sat down.

"Thank you" I replied

"How are you both doing? Reecey told us you had a bad day with the twins"

"Yeah, they wouldn't settle for me no matter what I did, by the time Reece came home from work I was so anxious and upset, so I told Reece to sort them whilst I went for a long hot bath"

"Has Carly spoken with you?" asked Charlotte

"Yes, this morning, before she left to go to yours, I'm proud of her and her deciding to train to be a nurse, she will be amazing" I replied

"Yes, she had it all planned, she chatted with me at home the other day, I can accommodate her at the nursery part time, as she wants to continue as the peer support for the apprentices"

"Did you know she calls Reece Pop's"

Both Charlotte and Mia burst out laughing, "Pops"

"Yes, she told me this morning, she decided on Pops because he is old"

"Is this pick on Reece day or something?"

"Aw Reecey, every day is pick on Reece day" replied Mia

I laughed when Mia said that then we had our drinks then ordered our lunch it was nice to spend time with other adults, as being at home all day with just the twins can get lonely

"How is Harry doing?" I asked

"He's perfect, and he has Mia wrapped around his fingers" replied Charlotte

"Really.... I'm not surprised" I replied

"I knew you would be Mia" added Reece

Reece's POV

Marjorie needed our lunch date with Mia and Charlotte, she had been with the twins all week and needed the break. The twins are in good hands with Siobhan and Viv, Marjorie never once checked her phone, to see if there were any messages from them. We chatted for about an hour then we decided the four of us would go to the local fair and arcade have a bit of fun, as Charlotte needed to relax too.

We got to the fair and I immediately dragged Marjorie on to the roller coaster "Oh Reece you are such a child" she said

I kept on dragging her and we went on, she screamed all the way round, Mia and Charlotte stood waiting for us laughing. Then Mia dragged me onto the Walzters I hate going round in circles fast, but it was pay back, then we walked around like teenagers I put my arm around Marjorie and Mia put her arm around Charlotte.

We bought candy floss and doughnuts then went inside to the arcade and played on the coin machines. I ended up in a competition with Mia on one of the machines and I won. We traded in our tokens, then decided to head back to town.

We stopped off at an Italian restaurant for our evening meal, Marjorie and Charlotte are going to meet up a couple of times for play dates, so they are getting out of the house with the babies.

I messaged Viv and said we would pick the twins up as it was 6.30pm and we would be driving past their house. We pulled up and knocked on the door, Siobhan opened the door she put her finger on her lips as we could hear Viv chatting with the twins "Your daddy is a Liverpool supporter, we don't like that, we are Everton supporters, aren't we? Jack" we could hear the twin's giggle

"Would you mind not trying to turn my children into Everton supporters please," I said

"We are bringing them up the right way and they are Liverpool supporters" I said

"Look what I got them today" I showed Viv and Siobhan the two baby Liverpool kits.
