Chapter Forty- Six

Marjorie's POV

I settled the twins to bed; Charlotte had tired them out in nursery today they were falling asleep as soon as Reece and I had bathed and changed them. Reece went back downstairs to tidy the kitchen after our evening meal and the mess left by the twins, I got showered and changed. I checked my phone and there was a message from my dad, and a message from Carly's group chat, I replied to both, I still can't believe I have my dad back, after all these years thinking he was dead, it was all lies. I decided to go and listen to music instead of watching a film, I went into the music room, and I put the baby monitor on the table next to me.

I looked through my record collection I chose an album I haven't listened to for a long time, it was the first album I bought after I was told my dad was dead, I switched the record player on and placed the record on, it I placed the stylus on the record and the first song on The Black Crowes album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion started I sat back and closed my eyes. I started to think about the day my mother told me he had died, she had taken me to school as usual, then at about 2pm I was called out of class by the headmaster, and she was sitting in his office, and she told me my dad had died in a car accident, and I would be off school for a few weeks. Within the month we had moved into my stepfather's house, she had married him and the abuse and lies started.

I was suddenly aware of someone walking into the room, I opened my eyes, and I was looking at Stevie.

"Are you okay mum?"

"I'm okay my love why do you ask?"

"Well, you seemed quiet at dinner time, then you came in here after settling the twins to bed, so I just wanted to check you were okay" she replied

"I'm okay. Honestly, I was just trying to think if I can remember my mother being pregnant, it's so difficult with me being around 2 years old. I vaguely remember someone being introduced as a friend of my mother's when I was around 5 years old.... in fact, it was around my 5th birthday, and I was told to play with their daughter she must have been around 3 years old, she had blonde hair and blue eyes, oh my god it was Siobhan, Fuck....... It was the day my abuse got worse; they were going to start abusing her. I stood up and told them to leave her alone, it was after that, the abuse..." I started crying Stevie sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around me.

"Even then you were protecting her, and you didn't know who she was, I love you mum" she said

"Can I talk to you?" Stevie asked

"Of course, my love what's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong, there is something I need to talk to you about, something I have been going over this in my head for a long time, and after chatting with Mia, I'm finally being true to myself" she replied

"You and Mia have become close, haven't you?"

"Both Mia and Char are great, and they have become good friends, when Will was accusing me of having an affair with the Dr, he was wrong about the Dr I was seeing, it wasn't the male Dr he saw me with, he is just a friend.... I had been seeing a Dr called Sara Henderson. I love her mum. She's the reason I'm going back to Liverpool"

I hugged Stevie "Thank you for telling me, I hope you will be happy with her, and I hope you will be bringing her to the wedding so everyone can meet her" I replied

"You don't hate me?" she asked

"Not at all, I'm proud of you my love, all I want for all of my children is to be happy"

We sat there a bit longer then Reece walked in. I was wondering where you had both gone. He looked at me and could see I had been crying he immediately came over. "Hey what's wrong?"

"I will tell you later" I replied

"I just needed to talk to mum, in private" added Stevie

Reece nodded then Carly and Eric walked in "What's everyone doing in here" asked Carly

"Just chatting" replied Stevie

"I'm glad you are all here there is something I want to speak to you about" I said

"What do you want to talk to us about? Is everything okay?" asked Carly

"Everything is fine my love, I just want to let you all know that with the help of Aunty Auti and Aunty Siobhan I have been selling everything that my stepfather signed over to me, as well as the money there is the business and three properties, I will be splitting it into 6 trust funds"

"6 trust funds?" asked Carly

"Yes Stevie, you, Eric, Kate, Jack and Jamie, if and it's a big if me and your dad have another baby then the funds will be adjusted"

"It's okay Marjorie I don't need any money from you," said Eric

"Eric, I want to, you are family now"

Eric nodded and cuddled into Carly "So when do we get the money?" asked Carly

"Stevie gets hers when she turns 25, you and Eric will get yours when you turn 25, unless Aunty Auti and Aunty Siobhan think you aren't mature enough then they will change the age when you get it, as they are the trustees"

Carly looked at her phone "Everything is set up for Saturday mama when we go wedding dress shopping"

"Okay great" I replied

"Stevie, do you have to go to Liverpool on Saturday?" asked Carly

"I do, Aunty Mia is helping me move and it has to be this weekend, I will be home Monday, we can go shopping as soon as I'm back and I will be bringing someone with me, I want you all to meet" Stevie replied

"Is it a new man?" asked Carly

"No, it's my girlfriend, we have been seeing each other for a while now, I had been confused about everything until now, after I spent the day with Mia and Char"

Carly came over and hugged Stevie "I can't wait to meet the girl who has won my big sister's heart"

We spent the rest of the evening chatting and listening to music, Stevie went to her room and Carly and Eric went to the pool house, Reece and I checked on the twins they were sound asleep, we went to our room, I sat on my side of the bed and looked at my phone I had a message from Siobhan, asking if I was free tomorrow, I rang her back. She answered straight away.

S- "Hey big sis"

M- "Hey you are you okay?

S- "I'm okay, chatting with Viv about things"

M- "Are you and Viv free tomorrow, I was wondering if you would both like to come round for a coffee?"

S- "Yeah, we are both free tomorrow, what time do you want us to come round?"

M- "Say around 11am, gives us time to get the twins to nursery"

S- "Okay great, we will see you tomorrow, do you want us to bring anything?"

M- "Just yourselves"

S- "Okay then we will see you tomorrow...... and Marjorie, I'm glad you are my sister, I'm sorry for how I had behaved over the last few years, I regret every minute of it"

M- "Hey, let's not go over that? I was going through my villain era don't forget, and you were fighting your inner self, but we both came through it, and now both have loving partners, who we adore and who adore us, and to top things off we are sisters, as well as best friends"

S- "I love you Marji"

M- "I love you Bonnie, see you tomorrow"

S- "See you tomorrow, Marji"

I hung up, put my phone on charge then got into bed, Reece walked back into our room after checking on the twins, he got into bed and I cuddled into him, and I was asleep in minutes.
