Marjorie's POV

I woke up early, it was already warm I got up and went and checked on the twins, they were still asleep, I picked up the baby monitor and went downstairs and into the kitchen I made a fresh pot of coffee, poured one for myself and sat outside by the pool house.

I was enjoying the morning sun when I was aware of my dad walking outside

"Good morning Starshine"

"Good morning dad" I replied then smiled

"It's been a long time since I have been called starshine" I replied

"Well, your mother was never one for pet names" he replied

I didn't respond to his replied as I really didn't want to bring her up in the conversation, I took a mouthful of my coffee "there is a fresh pot of coffee if you want one" I said

My dad went and got a cup of coffee and came back outside "so how did you come to foster Carly?" he asked

"She was the apprentice at my nursery, and she always looked at me as her work mum, she had a tough time at school and as a result had an eating disorder, I have always been protective of her, she was in a car accident with her parents and younger brothers, her parents died, Carly and her brothers didn't have a scratch on them, her brothers went to live with their aunty, as Carly was given a choice as she was 17, she decided to stay here, so the social worker asked if I would consider fostering her, I said yes immediately" I replied

"That is such a wonderful thing to do" he replied

"I couldn't see her end up somewhere she didn't want to be, it was a no brainer"

"So, when did Stevie come back into your life?"

"Just as I had the twins" I replied

"She's beautiful, just like you" he added

"I can't believe how much she looks like me" I added

"She's training to be a nurse" I added

"Oh, that's wonderful" he replied

"Marji, tell me about your wedding, I wish I could have given you away"

"We got married at the town hall just before I gave birth, we didn't have a big wedding just me, Reece, Carly, Vicky and Laura" I replied

"Really?" he replied

"Hmmm I didn't want them to ruin my day, if we did have a big wedding, as they would have turned up"

"Yeah, they would have turned up and ruined it in some way" he replied

"We were going to have a wedding here of the weekend, but we decided to postpone it until everything settles down after the trial" I replied

"So, there is a chance that I could give you away"

"Dad I would love for you to give me away"

My phone buzzed and I looked down it was Autumn "Your mother has been arrested"

I replied "When?"

"Early this morning, she is being charged with child neglect and knowing about the sexual abuse of you"

"Good, I hope she rots in jail"

"I made her aware that you now have all your stepfather's business, houses and money and she has nothing"

"Okay, now can you do what I asked you to do, sell everything and split all the money between all the kids"

"Yes of course, we have already had enquiries about the business so I will get the best deal possible, I will get everything packed up in the houses, your mother has asked if she can go and get her things from the house, would that be, okay?"
