Chapter Forty-one

Marjorie's POV

I get home and as soon as I walk through the door I collapse on the floor and start crying, Reece comes over and hugs me, "it's okay baby, it's all over, they are in prison now, they can't get to you" he said

I looked at him "It's all over?" I ask

"Yes baby, it's all over" I nuzzle into his chest.

"Take me upstairs please, I want to soak in the bath" I asked him

"Of course, beautiful" he scoops me up, as we head upstairs he turns around and says,

"Give your mama sometime, I'm just taking her upstairs"

"Okay pops, shall we go and get the twins from nursery?" asks Carly

"Yes, please that would be really helpful" I pass my car keys to Eric

"Here Eric take my car, saves taking the car seats out, I will let Char know you are collecting the twins tonight"

"Are you sure Reece?"

"Yes, it's okay, I know you are a good driver" Reece replied

I continued to cuddle into Reece, he has always been my safe space, "Thank you my loves" I say as they leave the house

Reece takes me into our bedroom he gently places me on our bed and then goes into our bathroom to start running our bath, whilst he was in there, I got my jogging bottoms and vest out and put them on the bed, I sat back on the bed and looked around the room, I noticed the piece of paper Mia gave me the other day with the contact details of my father, I pick it up and look at it, I pick my phone up and I entered the number into my phone rang my father he picked up after the third ring.

J.B "Hello"

I couldn't believe I was hearing my father's voice "Daddy" I replied

J.B "Marji, is that you?"

"Yes, it's me.... I can't believe you are alive" I answered

J.B "Yes, baby girl, I'm alive, your mother had me over a barrel, I didn't stand a chance against "I interrupted him

"Daddy please, don't mention him or that woman, I know they would not have let you take me with you, that's why they said you had died"

I looked up and Reece was standing in the doorway, I nodded "I want to see you daddy, could you come to my house tonight? You have grandchildren who want to meet you"

J.B "Send me your address and I will come to your house" he replied

"Okay, and you will stay for dinner?"

J.B "I would love to stay for dinner, I will see you later baby girl"

"I love you too daddy, I will see you tonight"

I ended the call then sent him a text message with our address, I looked over at Reece again he walked over, "You are the most amazing woman, I love you baby, the bath is ready" I get up from the bed and walk over to him, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him in for a kiss, "I love you Reece"

"I love you too" he replied

We got undressed and settled into the bath "So you have invited your dad over tonight" he asked me

"Yeah, I couldn't wait another day I want him back in my life, he is an amazing man, Reece you will love him" I replied

We sat there until the bath was too cold, we got out and got dressed then we headed back downstairs "Would you like a cup of coffee?" he asked me

"No, I will have a glass of wine" I replied

We sat outside by the pool house enjoying the sunshine and sitting in a comfortable silence, then Carly, Eric and Stevie arrived back with Kate and Jack, they came through to the back garden, "Mama" said Carly

"Hello, my love, how was the twins day in nursery?" I asked

"It was great, Char said Kate took all her bottles with no fussing, and Jack had to have an extra bottle, he was so hungry today, they did messy play and made you and pops pictures" she handed me and Reece, the pictures.

"Could you all sit down, I have something to tell you, after you all went to get Kate and Jack, I made a phone call, to my real dad, as we found out that he is alive, he is coming tonight to meet everyone" I told them

"What? He's alive?" asked Stevie

"Yes, my love, I'm as shocked as you are, I spoke to him on the phone" I replied

Carly came over and sat on my lap and she nuzzled into my neck "How are you mama after today" she asked

"Baby I'm okay, I'm glad it's all over if I'm honest, now it's time to move on, okay"

"Okay mama, I love you"

"I love you too my love"

After an hour the twins woke up, Reece and I fed and changed them and settled them to bed, as we were coming back downstairs there was a knock at the front door, I went to open the door standing there was my dad, I looked at him then threw my arms around him "Daddy"

"Hello Marji, you're all grown up and you are beautiful"

"Dad, this is Reece my husband"

"Hello sir," said Reece

"Please call me Jack" he replied as they shook hands

"Come in daddy, there are some people I want you to meet" as he came in, he handed me a large bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates

We lead him through the back garden, "Daddy, let me introduce you to your grandchildren, Stevie, Carly, Kate and Jack"

Stevie and Carly ran over to my dad and wrapped him in a huge hug, "Grandpa" they both said at the same time.

Then he crouched down, and looked at the twins "You named him Jack?" he asked

"Yes, dad we did"

"Wow Marji, you have really made a great life for you"

"I left home at 18, and made my way in the world, I have had good friends who helped me along the way, they have now become family"

"I'm sorry I wasn't around" he replied

"Daddy it wasn't your fault, they put you in a difficult situation you had do what you felt was right, they probably lied to you, like they lied to me"

"But Marji, you were abused, I let that happen to you"

"No, you didn't let it happen, they made you move away"

"What's important now, is that you are back in my life, and I have my daddy back, I have something to show you" I took his hand and lead him to the music room.

I have never wanted this in any of my homes until now, not even the one I was left by grandpa, this is my forever home, and I'm bringing my children up to appreciate music and records, just like you did with me"

He hugged me again "Oh Marji, this is amazing, I was always worried your mother would find out about the storage locker"

"She almost did a couple of times, but somehow, she never did, Reece moved it all here just after we moved in"

"He's a good man Reece isn't he"

"He's the best" I replied

We went back downstairs to the garden and spent the evening chatting and getting to know him and telling him what I had been doing.

It was getting late, so Reece insisted that my dad stayed over, he slept in Carly's room, Carly stayed with Eric and Stevie stayed in her room, I checked on the twins with Reece, they were fast asleep, we went to bed as I cuddled into him, he asked me "Are you okay babe"

"I'm okay, I have my dad back" I kissed him and settled to sleep
