"I don't understand. How can that be? Why am I not aware of this?" – Dr. Han asks, confusion painted plainly on his face. "Last I heard of this matter, the two of you couldn't stand each other."
V, who was formerly smirking, frowns with contempt.
"The man you so easily cast aside seems to have done more than you could have imagined I guess, huh? Who would have thought? Obviously, not you."
"Do remember to talk to me with respect V. In no context am I your peer. And the decision that was made was not made with ease. It was necessary." – The older man responds almost scornfully. "Explain exactly what has happened during this time."
The one man that didn't cower when met with V's anger was Dr. Han. V had always hated that fact.
"I'll spare you from the nitty-gritty. Here's the short version. Jungkook set the conditions to introduce Taetae to Taehyung. And it went pretty okay considering how the guy's track record. And although mine and his introduction was supposed to happen as tactfully, unfortunately we were blindsided with Jungkook's dismissal. I had to improvise. It was a success nonetheless as you can see." – V finishes with a shrug.
The doctor was silent for a moment.
"Why now? Why not before? What has changed? My question is for Taehyung."
"I suppose the conditions have changed. I've felt safer yet more in danger than since my childhood. Jungkook helped me step out of my comfort zone, out of my static way of living and he accompanied me through it. Lately, I haven't really felt as alone as I've always been."
"Taehyung. Right?" – Although it had been obvious, the doctor thought it would be best to clarify.
"None other." – Taehyung said and smiled timidly.
"Fascinating. Truly. I could only hope to see this day. I'm... Well, I'm happy for you, Taehyung."
"Thank you, doctor. Oh, and this might be the right time to tell you that I was able to be touch without fainting as well, a couple of times actually." – Taehyung's smile grew and an innocent giddiness came over him that the doctor noticed immediately. It was as though Taehyung was a child telling his parent of his frivolities.
"That is great news, Teahyung. And how do you think that happened? What pushed you into trying?" – Dr. Han inquires as he quickly notes everything down.
"I didn't try really. It just happened. I think with the way I've been feeling around Jungkook. Maybe it's because I haven't been feeling as on edge as before. My mind has been preoccupied with other things and I haven't been as hyperaware of my surroundings, which sounds ridiculous now that I say it out loud, but that's just how it's been. I don't have a better explanation for you. Jungkook has been a positive constant in my life and truth be told, the thought of not having him around is scaring the fuck out of me." – Taehyung's head hung low as he started nipping at his fingertips in obvious anxiousness.
"And also making you cuss apparently." – The doctor tries to change this new course the conversation seemed to be setting on.
Taehyung giggles ruefully then sighs – "Yes, well, Jungkook's changed a lot of things." He takes a deep breath, needing the oxygen boost as a substitute for courage. "I don't understand why you decided this doctor. I understand your reasoning, but do celebrities not get to have friends who are psychologists without it having to mean anything else?"
Before Dr. Han could attempt to respond, Taehyung continued – "V will be speaking now."
"No need to take notes anymore old man. You will be destroying our records." – V says curtly.
"No. That is not possible. I am legally required to keep patient records for a long time even after our sessions are through." – The doctor declines decidedly.
"If you don't want this situation to turn into whatever you fear it'll turn into then you will. Either that or you move it somewhere safe... which is riskier. Besides, aren't records only kept for like court or transferring information to another therapist and such? I'm sure you know the sessions were confidential. The information is not to be disclosed under any circumstances whatsoever. We also will not be seeing anyone other than you or Jungkook."
"Regardless, V, these records are important, and as I already mentioned. I am legally required to keep them." – The man stresses.
"Then you move them to a safe in your house or something. At least until this whole thing blows over. The whole point is to cut any ties between you and us. This is to protect you. That is why we're having this session in this hotel room and not your clinic. We will not be meeting again for a good while to make sure this thing doesn't get back to you. So stop punishing Jungkook. He has only ever helped. Don't let this one thing ruin it."
The older man took some time to think it over. Jungkook really had helped the boy in a way he hasn't been able to. And with the press conference and the planned scandal, not to mention cutting all contact with him, it might turn out to be okay.
"I'll reconsider my decision."
"What's there to think about still? I've laid it all out. I can guarantee you'll not be involved. Why stall and delay the inevitable?" – V protests.
"I said I'll reconsider V. Do not pressure me. I can very easily change my mind back." – The man retorts.
"Fine. Just consider the fact that every second you take is a second where Jungkook's world is falling apart. So maybe you can just not take your time with it."
The doctor glares at V.
"Maybe it's not your place to teach me how to make my professional decisions. I will take my leave, and when I've made my decision I will let Jungkook know."
And with that V was left alone to ponder over everything that had taken place.
