A/N:
Hey book-folk! It's been a second! For some reason this week felt longer than others.
You guys! I'm soooo excited with the direction the story is heading in!! I've been waiting for this since the earliest chapters!!
In this chapter we peek into Jungkook's mental state when he was younger. And obviously, since the last chapter we left off in the flashback of their past, that's where we're picking up.
We've mostly seen the light focusing on Taehyung's and V's well being and stresses and past. But this chapter I wanted to focus in Jungkook. In these few chapters, a lot will be uncovered and understood. V's and Jungkook's bond will start to make more sense.
Anyway, I'll shut up and let you get to it now.
Please comment and let me know about what you think of the chapter and the story! I love reading you thoughts and getting your feedback! It's such a motivation and i always appreciate it.
Shutting up now. Enjoy~~

Did het hear that correctly? Share a body? What is he trying to say right now? Is he hearing things? Was he really that drunk? Jungkook wondered quietly until he could no longer swallow his words.
"What do you mean you share a body? How do you share a body?" – Jungkook questioned as politely as he could in the state that he was in. It really was a wonder, even to him, how he was able to take this seriously.
"We have a condition. We have D.I.D. We are 3 different people in this body." – Taetae voices out controlling his voice as much as he could. The loud music was forcing him to raise his voice so that the kind man that wanted to help him could hear, but he was also trying to keep his voice as low as possible, well as low as the other man's hearing would allow. He couldn't help being mindful of what other people might hear, after all, he knew Taehyung had come here with important people that must've been around still, somewhere in the sea of people. He couldn't just ruin it for Taehyung right before his career was about to take off.
Jungkook took a minute to process the words that were barely filtered through the impossibly loud music which he noticed was obviously bothering the guy that was claiming the oddest of things. He had heard of D.I.D before or more correctly sped over it while he was reading about clinical psychology while thinking of what he could do in the near future for his career. He had different interests, one of which was psychology. But he hadn't gathered enough information about everything he was interested in to give him a push towards a final choice he could settle on. Or maybe this was it? Whatever it was he was going to decide to do, he wanted to make sure it involved helping people.
V or ... Taetae was a people; and he needed help. Jungkook wanted to help. But D.I.D? Really? What were the chances? Here, in real life, in front him, asking for help from him of all people. Surely he was pulling his leg. Was this a drunken prank V was trying to pull? But how well can someone act especially when they were under the influence of alcohol? In any case, as he himself was still somewhat under the influence, he found that alcohol was liquid courage, because all he wanted to do right now was pick the guy's brain. His unabating curiosity and need to help besting and silencing any type of reservations or inhibitions nudges him into action.
Jungkook stretches his arm to put a comforting hand on the man's shoulder when the latter cowers and fold into himself, his face buried in this knees and arms.
"No, no, no. Please. Please don't touch me. Please?" – The guy begs as though his life depended on it. No, this was definitely not an act. It was however a call to action that urged Jungkook to halt his movements and come up with a way to help.
"Okay, okay man, I won't. See? Look at me I'm not touching. I am not going to touch you unless you want me to." – Jungkook hurries to assure the guy. A panic attack is not what he needs on top of everything else. He knew he needed to do everything in his power to keep this man calm.
It's funny how he forgot all of his own worries and sorrows that pushed him into this club and put several drinks into his system as soon as someone needed him. In truth, that was what he wanted most in life. In his heart of hearts he knew, that the reason he so greatly wanted to help people was because he wanted to feel needed. After being provided for and accounted for and taken care of all his life, as though not allowed to navigate his life independently, all he wanted was to be able to take care of someone else to be needed by someone else. Years of depending on his parents for everything have left him unsure and aware if he'd be able to stand on his own two feet if the time came.
The man came out of his little hiding to check if the words he hears were true. Sure enough, the arms that was headed towards him was now put away and tucked where it should be; away from him, and he couldn't be more thankful.
"I'm not a man." – He responds, his voice barely audible over the damn music that was starting to annoy Jungkook where it was amusing him minutes ago. But now he couldn't hear the small voice that left the man unless he strained himself. But he did hear the words nonetheless. First D.I.D, now he's not a man? Was this a female alter? Was that why they were so guarded and scared?
"You're not a man?" – Jungkook tries to chase the truth.
"No, I'm not." – Taetae answers shaking his head in an attempt to assure this man that was questioning him of his response.
"Then can you tell me more about that so I can understand better and help you?" – Jungkook asks as vaguely as he could in hopes that it would draw out the truth without causing fear or offense. For all he knew this was a female, or even a mythical creature. D.I.D was not limited to humanity. He remembered as much. But of all the fantastical places his mind took flight, he failed to remember that it could be a difference in age.
"I'm a kid. I'm only 8."
Jungkook's jaw dropped. He was not ready for an 8 year old. An adult fairy would have been easier. Never in his life had he been around children. He was an only child and a sheltered one at that. But this was not a choice. It wasn't a matter of could he or could he not. It was a must. He had to help this 8 year old. Leaving him alone at this time of night and in a club at that, it was simply not an option.
Jungkook had to put on his big boy pants sooner than he expected.
