Y/N's POV
I arrived at the office exactly at 7:30 AM, determined not to be late and risk another one of Mr. Jungkook's scoldings. After grabbing his usual plain black coffee from the cafeteria, I treated myself to a latte. I stood by the coffee counter, wondering when he'd actually show up. Would he come early, or would he be the type to stroll in at the last possible second? I decided to play it safe and left his coffee in his office, just in case he came in and needed it right away.
When I entered his office, I found him already seated at his desk. He looked every bit the part of the powerful businessman — calm, collected, and annoyingly perfect. Dressed in his usual attire, a crisp suit with his trademark air of confidence, he looked like he had stepped out of a magazine. But something about the situation didn’t sit right. He was early, and I was supposed to beat him here.
Without glancing up, he spoke in a voice that still carried authority. "I thought I told you to be here before me, and my coffee should be on my table by now."
I froze for a second, my stomach sinking. The coffee had only just been placed on his desk, but I wasn't about to tell him that.
"Sir, I’m here early, and I’ve already brought your coffee," I answered, trying my best to stand my ground.
"You call this early?" he shot back, his tone shifting from cold to angry. "It’s 7:45."
My patience was starting to fray. “So, when exactly was I supposed to be here? 6:30? Or should I have spent the night in the office?” The words slipped out before I could stop them, my frustration building.
His eyes flashed with irritation, and his voice turned hard. "I don’t care if you’re here at five, Miss Y/N. I gave you a simple instruction, and you couldn’t follow it."
I inhaled sharply, my frustration giving way to resignation. “I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t know when you were going to be here.”
"Just drop the coffee on my table and leave my office," he snapped, his anger clearly simmering beneath the surface.
I couldn’t help but feel the heat rise in my chest. Was this really happening? How could one person be this difficult to deal with? He acted like he was the center of the universe.
I walked over to his desk and placed the coffee on it carefully, trying not to make too much noise. I had just turned to leave when a loud sound interrupted the silence — the unmistakable sound of something being spat out.
"What is this?" His voice, laced with fury, stopped me in my tracks.
"Co-coffee," I stuttered.
"What kind of coffee is this?" he demanded.
"Plain black coffee, like you requested," I said, trying to keep my voice steady, though I was now doubting every choice I made today.
His expression darkened further. "Can't you do anything right? First, you're late, then there’s no coffee on my table, and when it finally arrives, it tastes awful. So tell me, Miss Y/N, what exactly are you good for?"
My heart pounded in my chest, but I bit my lip and held back a sharp retort. "I’m sorry, sir. I’ll go get you another cup."
"Just get out of my office," he ordered coldly, his words like a slap to my face.
I didn’t say anything as I walked out of the office, the door closing behind me with a quiet click. I couldn’t believe it. My mind raced as I made my way back to my own office. How could he possibly be so impossible? I never expected someone to be this demanding, and it was wearing me thin. Maybe it was time to start looking for a new job. The thought of spending every day with someone like him didn’t sound like peace of mind — it sounded like a constant headache.
