Tess's loud shriek was what drew everyone's attention.

"What's wrong?" my mom asked, looking at Tess. She said nothing.

How was I going to break the news to them, especially Evie and her parents?

"Jungkook, where's Y/N? Evie keeps asking for her," her dad spoke up.

"Tess, please take Evie to her room," I said. Tess carried Evie from Y/N's dad and went upstairs. I noticed the guards following them. Heck, what if one of them was in on this too? I didn't even know what to do anymore.

"Uhmm...she...she was...kidnapped," I admitted, slurring the words, not looking at their faces. I felt so ashamed. I hadn't been able to protect her.

"She was what?" her mother screamed.

"Do you have any idea who did it?" her dad asked, his voice calm.

I nodded.

"Let's all go inside so we can talk about it," my mom suggested. We all nodded and followed her in.

Once seated, I felt everyone's eyes on me, urging me to reveal what I knew.

"Who took her, Jungkook?" her mom snapped.

"Carlos," I replied, fury surging through me.

"Carlos? Your best friend Carlos?" The shock in their tones was unanimous.

"Why would he do that?" her dad asked, his tone quizzical.

"Because he wants Y/N," I replied. That was the only motive I could think of.

The head security, Williams, welcomed the police officers in.

"So the case is that your wife was kidnapped by your ex-best friend. Any evidence to prove this?" the officer in charge asked.

"He's been sending her threatening messages to kidnap our daughter. They should be on her phone. There's also proof from the CCTV," I replied. Someone gasped when I mentioned the threatening messages about Evie.

"Can we see her phone to check the last message sent?" asked Geoff, the second officer.

"I didn't see her phone anywhere," I replied.

"When was the last time you saw her?"

"That should be around 6:50, nearly an hour ago," I replied, glancing at my watch.

"So it's possible her phone is with her," the third officer, a woman, observed, and I nodded.

"Has he called or sent a text? Did he leave a note? I'll need a record of who came and left, along with their times," Williams ordered, his tone authoritative.

This was going to be a long night.

We went to the room first. The officers analyzed the scene. Perhaps he entered as she was leaving. She dropped the album, and he drugged her before dragging her out. Then we reviewed the CCTV footage. I also provided the guest list, focusing on those who left in the last hour.

"Do you have a list of his properties?"

I listed every property of Carlos's that I knew of, and the search began.

Meanwhile, one officer reviewed the surveillance footage at the gate, assessing who left.

"The only person who seems to have left during the incident is Jess. Is there another exit?" Williams asked.

"It's just the main estate gate," I replied. What was he insinuating?

"Where did your brother say he was going?" he asked.
