Y/N's POV
When we got home, Evie was excited, and so was I.
"Are you hungry? Should we go up to our room?" I asked.
"She can get her own room if she wants to," Jungkook said.
"No, thank you," she replied rudely, and I noticed the way he looked at her.
"Evie, don't be rude. He's just trying to be nice, okay?" I said, and she nodded.
"Your house is beautiful," she said, staring in awe.
"It's not my house, Evie; it's his," I corrected, and she scoffed.
"Your house isn't beautiful, mister," she said, sticking her tongue out at him, and he chuckled.
Jeon Jungkook just chuckled. He chuckled, and it was because of Evie?
"Thank you, Evie. I appreciate your compliment," he said, smiling.
"It's not a compliment, and don't smile at me. I don't like you," she whined, and he laughed.
"Evie, it's not nice to say you don't like a person," I warned, and she nodded.
The bell rang, and Carlos came in. I hated him way more than I hated Jungkook, and I did hate Jungkook a lot.
"Hey, bro," he greeted Jungkook, and they did their special handshake. I looked away, not wanting to exchange unnecessary pleasantries.
"You didn't tell me you were coming," Jungkook said, surprised.
"Just decided to drop by. Do you have any food? I'm starving."
"Why didn't you drop by the restaurant, then?" Evie asked.
"And who is this little thing?" he rudely questioned.
"None of your business, Carlos," I retorted, glaring at him.
"Carlos, just go take your seat," Jungkook dismissed him. "Y/N, cook something for him," he ordered.
"But she's not a maid," Evie whined.
"Evie, it's fine," I said, pulling her to the kitchen.
We started cooking. She helped by bringing ingredients to me. Jungkook and Carlos were talking in the sitting room, and I could hear bits and pieces, enough to know they were talking about me. I finished cooking, set the table, and returned with the food.
"You should join us," Jungkook requested, so I sat down.
We began eating in silence. All the while, Evie had a weird smile on her face. When Carlos started coughing, I knew she'd done something.
"This..." he exclaimed, drinking water as Evie started laughing.
"There's... a lot... of pepper," he screamed, fanning his mouth.
"But there's no pepper in mine," Jungkook said, looking at me questioningly.
Evie giggled, and I couldn't help but laugh a little as Carlos pointed an accusing finger at us.
"It must be this little brat," he shouted, pointing at Evie, his eyes already red.
"She's not a brat, Carlos. Don't call her that. I won't have you talking crap," I said angrily.
"See what happens when you don't train a child well? They become nuisances and cause trouble. She needs to be shipped to a boarding or disciplinary school."
"I'm not going anywhere," Evie stated.
"Evie, did you put pepper in his food?" Jungkook asked.
"I did," she replied honestly, and Jungkook asked why.
