After the wedding, Jungkook announced we were leaving for the honeymoon. I hadn’t even packed.
"Tess packed your things," he said. "We need to leave soon, by 1 pm tomorrow."
"So this is just business?" I asked.
"What else would it be? Pleasure?" he mocked. I scoffed.
"I just want to make it clear this is a contract. Nothing more. Don't expect anything else."
"If I want something, I know where to find it," he replied. I rolled my eyes, typical Jungkook.
We got into the car and headed for the airport, where we boarded his private jet. I tried not to show how excited I was—my first time on a plane—and though thrilling, it was also nerve-wracking.
Jungkook took off his suit and lounged in a loose shirt, reading a file. I was still in the light pink dress from the reception. As the plane started to take off, my nerves kicked in. He told us to buckle up.
"Don't tell me you're scared," he teased.
"Exactly what I planned on doing—keep it to myself," I said, and he laughed, a deep, mocking sound. Once upon a time, I found it sexy.
"Laugh all you want, Jeon. Not everyone lives as lavishly as you do."
"Right, you're just a beggar," he said, and I slapped him.
How dare he call me that? I wasn’t rich, but I wasn’t a beggar. I had never begged for anything.
"I’m not a beggar, never was, never will be," I said through gritted teeth.
"Well, I’m sure I’ve secured your next twenty generations with what I’m paying you," he said coldly.
I raised my hand to slap him again, but he caught it mid-air. "I let you slap me once. Not again. When we get off this plane, I'll show you what happens to people who disrespect me," he threatened.
I should have been afraid, but I wasn’t about to let him see that.
"If I get punished, you should too. Next time, think about how you talk to me," I shot back, trying to sound as firm as possible.
He just laughed, a dark, menacing laugh, and whispered, "You have no idea what I’d do to you."
The plane took off, and I tried to push the thought out of my head. What could he possibly do to me? I just hoped it was nothing.
We didn’t speak for the rest of the flight. He sat far away from me, which, to my relief, left me alone. With nothing else to do, I fell asleep.
"Miss... Miss..." a voice kept calling, waking me up.
"What?" I snapped.
"I'm sorry, but Mr. Jeon is leaving," the voice said.
I opened my eyes and saw Jungkook was gone. We had landed. Panicked, I saw a car waiting on the tarmac. He was leaving me in an unfamiliar country with no warning. I dashed out of the plane, chasing after him, shouting his name to stop. But he didn’t.
After what felt like forever, I finally caught up to his car, only for him to ignore me completely.
"For God's sake, Jeon, pull over!" I yelled, hitting the window.
"Why do you want to break the window, Park?" he asked, a serious look on his face, though I could see he was trying not to laugh.
"You... you..." I couldn’t catch my breath, and had no idea what to say.
"If you're done looking like a mad dog, you can get in," he said coldly.
Mad dog? Oh, Jeon.
"I’M GOING TO PAY YOU BACK FOR THIS," I threatened as I climbed into the car.
"I’d like to see you try," he said with a daring grin.
"Oh, I will," I replied, already planning my revenge. He was going to regret this.
We drove in silence for a while, but I caught him glancing at me, amused. That pissed me off even more. Out of nowhere, he burst into laughter.
"You should’ve seen yourself, Y/N. You were hilarious," he said, still laughing.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want," I snapped. "You won’t be laughing when I expose this marriage. Some people already don't believe it, and now they’ve seen your punishment. I’m sure they’ll believe me."
His face turned neutral, as if realizing his plan wasn’t as perfect as he thought.
"You wouldn’t do that," he said, way too confident.
"I would," I said with a smirk. "Looks like someone isn’t so smart."
"If you do that, I’ll..." he began.
"You’ll what, Jeon?" I cut him off, fuming. "You could have woken me up or waited for me in the car instead of making me run like an idiot."
"I wouldn’t have left without you," he muttered softly.
"Shut up, stupid. You kept speeding when I almost caught up to you," I snapped, and he laughed again.
I hated him so much.
"Forget it," I said, crossing my arms. "I’m done."
We finally arrived in Paris, and when I saw the Eiffel Tower, my excitement took over.
"We’re in Paris!" I squealed.
Jungkook shot me a look like I was crazy. I didn’t care. This was my dream destination.
When we arrived at the hotel, the view of the Eiffel Tower was breathtaking. It was clear this place was something else, likely owned by him. If I didn’t hate him so much, I would have hugged and kissed him out of excitement.
"Can you stop staring like you just won the lottery?" he mocked.
I ignored him and smiled. This was still Paris, after all.
The hotel suite was more like a penthouse, occupying the entire top floor.
"For starters, I could shut that stupid mouth of yours that spews nonsense every time it opens," I muttered angrily.
"I have a meeting in an hour," he ordered. "Go get ready."
"And why should I? You're the one with a meeting, and I'm going to sleep," I retorted.
"We’re having lunch after. I don’t want to come back and find you still asleep," he insisted.
"Then you can send someone else to drag me," I shot back.
There was a knock at the door, and the luggage arrived.
"Babe, I have to go," Jungkook said, running a hand through my hair. "But we’ll spend time together during lunch, okay?"
He was standing so close, his hands on my waist. This was all just a public display of affection.
"It’s alright. As long as we spend time together," I said, trying to ignore how uneasy I felt.
"Yeah, as long as we are," he said, kissing my forehead. "You have no idea what I want to do to you."
His words made my skin crawl. The look in his eyes wasn’t reassuring, and it only added to the tension.
I stared at him, hoping he'd leave, but he didn’t. Then, there was a soft cough at the door.
"I’d like to know if you need anything, sir," the staff member asked.
"No, that will be all. For the next hour, I don’t want any interruptions," Jungkook said, and the staff member left with a blush on his face.
I couldn’t believe this. He was actually playing the “honeymoon” card now.
"What was that all about?" I asked angrily.
"We’re on our honeymoon, honey," Jungkook replied with a smirk.
Oh, what a honeymoon this was going to be.
