The following evening, Jungkook and I were watching a movie after I had tucked Evie into bed with a bedtime story.

Our hands were linked, and my head rested on his shoulder.

"Let's go out tomorrow, just the two of us," he suggested, glancing at me.

"I'd love to, but I can't just leave...," I stopped myself, almost saying daughter. "I can't just leave Evie alone."

"Who said she'd be alone? I'll have someone take care of her."

"This place is new to me, Jungkook. Can I trust the person? I don't want anything to happen to her."

He looked at me with sincerity, his voice steady. "I don't think you trust me if you're asking that. Evie means everything to you, so she matters to me too. Nothing will happen."

The way he said it made me admire him even more, realizing how much he cared about Evie without even knowing she was his. I smiled.

"Alright then, I'll go on the date with you."

"Thank you." He kissed my forehead gently.

The next day, we went shopping at some of Paris’s best stores, where Jungkook bought more than we needed, without batting an eye at the cost. I still couldn’t understand how some people did that.

As I prepared for the date, I grew nervous. The red Gucci dress, with its low neckline and curve-hugging fit, made me feel like I was back on our first date. I kept my makeup simple and wore black Louboutin heels with a Louis Vuitton purse. After dropping off Evie with the friendly people she’d be staying with, I went downstairs to meet Jungkook. When I saw him, I couldn’t help but gawk—he looked stunning in his Armani tuxedo and Louis Vuitton shoes.

"Tu es très belle, ma bella," he said, his French accent making my heart race. I didn’t know what he said, but I smiled anyway.

"You look amazing," I said, and immediately felt silly for the simple compliment.

"Just amazing?" He raised an eyebrow, teasing.

"Maybe more than amazing, but I’m not telling you that."

He rolled his eyes. "You really don’t know how to appreciate beauty."

He handed me a bouquet of roses. "For you."

"They’re beautiful, thank you."

We took some pictures before leaving. I had no idea where we were headed, but I knew it would be something special. When we arrived, I was in awe. We were at La Seine, and it turned out we were on a dinner cruise.

"This is incredible, Jungkook," I said, beaming at him.

"I'm glad you like it," he replied, taking my hand as we walked to our table.

The dinner spread was extravagant, and the ocean breeze felt like it was meant to be. It was chilly, and Jungkook quickly took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

"I should’ve told you to bring one," he apologized.

I shrugged it off and we ate.

"Do you like the food?" he asked as I savored every bite.

"It’s amazing," I said, unable to hide my satisfaction.

"Don’t do that, Y/N," he said, his tone suddenly dark.

"Do what?" I asked, licking my lips innocently.

"What you're doing. You’re tempting me, aren't you?" he teased.

"I don’t need to tempt you, Jeon." I smirked, and he agreed with a smile.

"I'm glad we're okay now. I’m sorry for the things I said and did... the way I treated you. I’m really sorry," he said, taking my hand.

"Let’s just enjoy the moment," I said, brushing off his apology. I wasn’t ready to forgive him yet, and I didn’t want to pretend.

The rest of the evening was lighthearted. We talked about our adventures in Paris, laughing and enjoying each other's company. I knew I had to tell him about Evie soon, but for now, I’d keep it to myself.

"Thank you for this," I said as we headed back to pick up Evie.

"No, thank you for coming," he said, kissing me softly.

After we picked up Evie, Drake, Jungkook’s friend, opened the door.

"Back so soon? I thought you were going to do something more lovers do," he teased.

Jungkook and I exchanged an awkward glance and laughed.

"Where's Evie?" I asked, and just as I did, Evie came running toward me, with Drake’s wife, who was pregnant. I couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy.

"You're back!" Evie said, wrapping her arms around me.

"Someone missed me," I smiled, kissing her cheek.

Drake and Jungkook talked while Drake’s wife and I chatted. I couldn’t help but wonder what they were discussing, as they kept glancing at us.

The next day, we visited the Eiffel Tower. Standing at the top, Evie grinned.

"We can see the whole city from here," she said excitedly.

"I know," I replied, smiling. "It’s so beautiful. Thank you for bringing us here."

"You can show me how thankful you are," Jungkook said, pulling me closer.

"Thank you," I said, hugging him. "For everything—this trip, the house, everything. You’ve done so much."

"I feel like I haven’t done enough, but I’m happy you appreciate it."

We shared a brief kiss, mindful of Evie being with us.

Our last stop in Paris was Disneyland. Evie was overjoyed, and I could tell I was just as thrilled. The magic in the air was undeniable. We bought souvenirs and snacks and went on all the rides. It was pure bliss, but sadly, we had to leave.

Back home in NYC, I knew it was finally time to tell Jungkook about Evie. I’d spent the day preparing his favorite meal, hoping he would arrive soon. But after two hours of waiting and no response to my calls, I began to worry.

At 11 pm, he finally walked in. I rushed over to him.

"Jungkook, I was so worried," I said, hugging him, but he didn’t embrace me back. Something was off.

"Is everything alright?" I asked, panic rising.

"You tell me. Why didn’t you tell me Evie is mine, our daughter?" he shouted, hurt in his eyes.
