Fear

Days passed in a tense, quiet rhythm. Y/N stayed close to Billie and Finneas, trying to regain a sense of normalcy, though everything still felt like it could shatter at any moment. Meanwhile, the media storm grew louder outside their walls, reporters hungry for details about her disappearance, speculation fueling countless articles and viral posts. The headlines were relentless, full of assumptions about her trauma, her life, and even invasive details that no one had the right to know.

One morning, as they sat in the living room, Finneas scrolled through his phone, his face growing increasingly tense. "It's disgusting," he muttered, barely able to keep his anger in check. "They don’t care about what she’s going through—they just want a story."

Y/N sat curled on the couch, looking fragile and weary. She hadn’t spoken much about the details of her ordeal, and Billie and Finneas had avoided pressing her. But today, something in her seemed different—like a dark wave had finally risen to the surface, something she could no longer hold back.

Y/N took a shaky breath, her hands gripping the blanket tightly as she looked down, voice barely a whisper. "I… I feel like I’m never going to escape him. Even with all of you here… he’s still in my mind, like I’m trapped all over again."

Billie placed a comforting hand on Y/N’s shoulder, eyes filled with worry and empathy. "Y/N… we’re here. You’re safe with us."

Y/N nodded, swallowing hard. "I just… I need to say it. I don’t want it to be hidden anymore, like he’s still got that control over me.”

She took a deep, trembling breath. “He… he wouldn’t let me sleep. He’d wake me up over and over, just to keep me exhausted and weak. Every time I’d fall asleep, he’d find some way to scare me, so I’d be… terrified and disoriented. And he’d say things… things that made me feel like nothing."

Billie’s eyes filled with tears as she held Y/N’s hand, offering her silent support. Finneas’s jaw tightened, his face shadowed with a mixture of anger and sorrow, but he stayed silent, giving her the space she needed.

Y/N continued, her voice growing smaller as she recounted the memories. "He made sure I didn’t feel like I could fight back. It was like… like I was there, but I didn’t exist. And now, it’s like his voice is still there, in the back of my mind, making me doubt everything, making me feel like I’m never going to be… me again.”

Her voice broke, and Billie wrapped her arms around her, pulling her close, her own tears falling as she whispered, “You don’t have to carry this alone. Every step you take, we’ll be right here with you. You’re not alone, Y/N.”

Y/N nodded into Billie’s shoulder, allowing herself to be held. Finneas reached out, placing a comforting hand on her back, his touch gentle, his silence filled with the weight of his love and protection.

As they sat there together, a fierce determination settled over them. They knew it would take time for Y/N to heal, and that some days would be harder than others. But as long as they were together, they would face every shadow, every haunting memory, until Y/N felt whole again.
