NAKASIMANGOT si Selene habang nakasunod kay Apollo. Ang saya na nararamdaman niya sa pagpayag nito kahapon na sumali siya sa hunting competition ay biglang nawala nang sabihin nito sa kaniya kanina na sa safe zone lang siya puwedeng mag-hunt.

Apollo massaged his temple as if he were having a headache just by talking to her.

Selene couldn’t help but pout. She looks like a kid being scolded by her parents.

“I have already let you enter the competition. But you must only hunt in the safe zone as my condition,” he said with finality in his voice.

Selene rolled her eyes. Hindi na lang siya umimik pa.

Bago sila magsimula ay pinapili muna siya ni Apollo sa mga nakahilerang pana at palaso. There are three types of bows lying right in front of her. The longbows, recurve bows, and crossbows. Unang tingin pa lang niya sa mga ito ay mayroon ng nakakuha agad ng atensyon niya.

“I’ll take the crossbow. It looks to be a more convenient one.” She took one of the crossbows and looked at it intently.

“Well, it actually is the powerful one and easier to use compared to others. But of course it still depends on your comfort. So you might want to try the others as well first,” Apollo suggested.

Napailing naman siya. “No. I’m already good with this one. Let’s do this.”

Selene positioned herself in front of the target board as she loaded the crossbow. Although it’s her first time to actually use it, she already has enough knowledge about it. Mas mabilis nga itong lagyan ng palaso kumpara sa regular na pana.

She was about to aim when she suddenly froze on her spot.

Her grip on the crossbow almost loosened the moment she felt Apollo stand behind her. She can feel his hard chest pressing on her back when his hand slowly reaches for hers that was holding the trigger.

“The trigger held by your right hand should be pulled closer to your chest.”

Agad naman niyang sinunod ang sinabi nito. Pilit na pinigilan niya ang sarili na manginig dahil sa tila bolta-boltahe ng kuryente na dumadaloy sa buong sistema niya nang dahil sa pagkakalapit nilang dalawa.

“Then put your left hand on the foregrip to support it.”

Their bodies are so close to each other, making her heart go wild once again. Hindi rin niya maiwasan na makaramdam ng kiliti sa kaniyang batok nang dahil sa init ng hininga nito na tumatama roon. Pakiramdam niya ay nanayo rin ang kaniyang mga balahibo. Dahil wala rin itong suot na gloves ngayon na madalas naman ay mayroon ay ramdam din niya ang init ng palad nito na mahigpit na nakahawak sa kaliwang kamay niya.
