TAHIMIK lang na nakamasid si Selene sa matandang babae na nagpakilala sa kaniya bilang Senia. Prente lang itong nakaupo sa mahabang sofa habang umiinom ng tsaa.

Kasalukuyan silang nasa loob ng drawing room ng mansyon. Kasama rin nila roon si Apollo na tila hindi maipinta ang mukha.

Matapos ng naging pag-uusap nila kanina sa alley ay agad namang sumama sa kaniya ang matanda. Sakto namang kababalik lang ni Levi sa puwesto na pinag-iwanan nito sa kaniya kanina. Agad din nilang hinanap sina Finn at Amara upang makabalik agad sila sa mansyon.

Halos kadarating lang din ngayon ni Apollo galing sa pagpupulong na dinaluhan nito. Nang banggitin niya rito ang tungkol sa pagiging dark wizard ni Senia ay biglang nag-iba ang ekspresyon ng mukha nito.

“I thought all of the dark wizards had already been executed. So it really surprised me to face one right now.” Apollo’s chin is resting on the back of his hand with his legs crossed.

Senia put the cup down. “Before the execution takes place, I manage to perfect the magic spell that can transport one’s soul into another world.” She had a solemn look on her face as she met the Duke’s intense gaze. “That’s how I survived our cruel fate that the Emperor has bestowed upon us, just because he's afraid of what we can do against the empire.”

Selene clenched her fists. The emperor fears those who held so much power because of the possibility of staging a coup d'état. That’s why, when he learned about the power that a dark wizard holds, he ordered to wipe them all out as soon as possible.

“But little did I know, there’s someone who stole the copy of the spell and performed it as well.”

Napamulagat si Selene nang dahil sa sunod nitong naging rebelasyon. Kung ganoon ay may isa pang natitira na dark wizard bukod dito.

“Who is it?” walang emosyong tanong ni Apollo.

“My cousin, Vera.” This time, Senia looked at her. “And she’s the one who helped that woman who killed you to transmigrate into this world as well.”

Napaawang ang bibig niya kasabay ng panlalaki ng kaniyang mga mata. “T-the one who killed me?”

“Yes. That woman who is currently possessing the body of the pink-haired lady.” Senia’s mind then seems to wander off somewhere, as if she’s reminiscing. “That night you saved me, then died; an unknown man also came into the scene. And he is the one who killed that woman. My cousin, who’s always after me, also saw what happened. Since she could see herself to that killer, Vera decided to transmigrate her soul as well into this world to go after and finish you.”

Sa isang iglap ay biglang bumalik sa alaala ni Selene ang mga nangyari noong gabi na ’yon na naalimpungatan siya.

Kung ganoon ang boses ng babae na narinig niya na kumausap sa kaniya ay ang mismong taong pumatay pala sa kaniya. At ang boses ng bagong dating naman..

Her eyes widened. She now finally realized why it sounds familiar. That voice definitely belongs to Alex! Ibig sabihin ay ito ang nagpakawala ng sunod-sunod na putok ng baril noong gabing ’yon na siyang tumapos naman sa buhay ng babaeng pumatay sa kaniya.

“I believe you have already met her. Your killer.”

She nodded. “Yeah. She’s Adeline Griffith now. A marquess’ daughter.”
