After BFDIA 17, Nickel revives Tennis Ball and eagerly tries to hang out with him. However, Tennis Ball isn't happy to see him and makes it clear he wants Nickel to leave-but, unsurprisingly, Nickel refuses to go.

The challenge had ended, and Nickel had been so close to scanning in and winning. But just before he could, Coiny pushed him, allowing him and Pin to secure the victory instead. Surprisingly, Nickel didn't feel upset about it! He'd just had one of the most fun days ever with his friend, Tennis Ball. Sure, he didn't fully grasp everything that was going on, but that didn't matter-spending time with Tennis Ball made it all worthwhile. They made a great team, Nickel thought!

Happily skipping toward the recovery center, Nickel was on his way to bring back Fries and Tennis Ball. Using his foot, he typed their names into the machine, a big grin spreading across his face. To top it off, he'd even gotten his missing chunk back! It sat snugly in its spot, though he'd need to glue it down properly later.

Fries was the first to pop out. He brushed himself off with a nonchalant, "Whaaatever," and wandered off. Next, Tennis Ball tumbled out, landing on his back with a thud. Seeing him, Nickel's smile grew even wider. Overcome with excitement, he leaped onto Tennis Ball, wrapping his legs around him like an enthusiastic bug.

"Tennis Ball!" Nickel exclaimed joyfully, his happiness impossible to contain.

Tennis Ball didn't share Nickel's enthusiasm. In fact, he'd had enough of Nickel for one day. All Nickel did was ruin things for him! Couldn't he see that Tennis Ball didn't want him around right now? With a frustrated sigh, Tennis Ball shook Nickel off, causing him to fall onto his back.

Nickel scrambled to his feet, instinctively feeling his face. His chunk was missing again! Panicked, he spun around, quickly spotting it and rushing to secure it back in place. But when he turned back, Tennis Ball was already walking away. Odd.

"Hey, Tennis Ball! Wait up!" Nickel called, hurrying after him.

Why couldn't Nickel just leave him alone? Hadn't he done enough damage for one day? Tennis Ball didn't even bother asking who won the challenge; he didn't care. He already knew it wasn't him-because of Nickel's carelessness! Sure, some might say it was Tennis Ball's fault for tripping over Nickel in the first place, but he wouldn't have tripped if Nickel weren't so clingy all the time.

Finally, Tennis Ball stopped and turned to face him. "Nickel, please. I'm not in a good mood. I want to be alone," he said, doing his best to usher Nickel away. Nickel was like an overly enthusiastic puppy always craving attention, but Tennis Ball wasn't a pet owner. He didn't have the energy for this.

"Well, when Bomby was in a bad mood, I'd give him cake, and he'd feel better-" Nickel began, hopeful.

"I'm not Bomby," Tennis Ball interrupted with an exasperated sigh, turning to leave again.

"Well... duh! You're all fuzzy! Bomby was never fuzzy!" Nickel replied, chasing after him as Tennis Ball resumed walking. "Hey, wait! Where are you going?"

Why was Tennis Ball still walking away from him? Did he do something wrong? Nickel started to worry. He couldn't think of anything that would've upset Tennis Ball so much. Well... maybe kicking that weird purple time rock into the future, but he was only trying to help! All he ever wanted was to be helpful and to be friends with everyone. He never meant any harm.

Tennis Ball stopped abruptly, letting out a frustrated groan before turning back to face Nickel. This time, his voice was firm and sharp, leaving no room for misunderstanding.
