Ever since Balloon and Nickel got together, Baseball and Suitcase found themselves without their usual best friends to hang out with. At first, it felt a little strange—after all, they didn't have much in common, and hanging out with your best friend's best friend wasn't exactly the most natural thing. But as time went on, the awkwardness faded. Their friendship didn't look like a typical best-friend dynamic—Suitcase loved making flower crowns and watching cute romantic soap operas, while Baseball preferred video games and sports. But somehow, none of that mattered. It wasn't about what they were doing—it was about being together. And if Baseball had to sit through a soap opera just to see Suitcase smile? Well... he didn't mind one bit.

Thinking back to season 2, Baseball realized he never really considered what Suitcase wanted. She had almost never been happy back then. But now? Now, he was determined to change that. Seeing her smile, hearing her laugh, catching those little cute expressions—he'd never seen this side of her before. He'd never taken the time to get to know her. But now that he was... he really liked who she was. Maybe he even liked her.

Suitcase enjoyed spending time with Baseball. He actually listened to her, and he was so gentle and understanding—a big softie, really. It reminded her a little of Balloon, but different. Balloon had always felt like one of the girls, while Baseball made her feel... well, like a schoolgirl with a crush on a cute boy. He made her giggly, made her feel special—like she mattered. But did she like him? Or did she just like the attention? And even if she was falling for him, this was Nickel's best friend. That had to mean something, right? Sure, Balloon was literally dating Nickel, and that had already put enough strain on their friendship. But if she got with Baseball? That would be a whole new level of drama.

But for now, she wasn't thinking about any of that. They were just friends. That's all.

Baseball wasn't so sure. Every time he saw Suitcase smile, his stomach did a little flip. Every time she laughed, his face grew warm. She made him feel... fuzzy. He'd never really felt that way about anyone before. And Suitcase was just different—gentle, kind, sweet, but also strong in ways he hadn't noticed before. Now that he had, though? He couldn't not notice.

It was late afternoon, and Baseball and Nickel sat outside near the hotel, shaded by a few trees. Nickel was rambling about Balloon again—because that's all he ever did these days. He was completely obsessed. Baseball tried his best to tune him out, but it was getting harder and harder to pretend to care. Why did Nickel think he needed to know what Balloon's favourite food was or how cute Balloon looked when he slept? He didn't. And quite frankly, it was starting to get really annoying.

"Heh, and then Balloon got me this really cool hat since, y'know, it's been a month since we got together. He's such an amazing boyfriend. I just hope I'm doing enough for him too, y'know?" Nickel turned to Baseball, expecting some kind of response, only to notice that he wasn't even listening. Instead, Baseball was staring off into the distance.

Suitcase was talking with Fan and Test Tube. She hadn't really caught up with them in a while, and Baseball knew Fan had been a good friend to her back in season 2.

"She's so pretty..." Baseball muttered without even realizing it. That was supposed to stay in his head—not slip out into the open.

Nickel blinked. "Who? Test Tube? Ehh, definitely not my type. Also, I think she's dating Fan." He followed Baseball's gaze.
