Coiny had promised Pin a fun shopping day at the mall, but before he could meet her, someone decided to use him to get a drink from a vending machine; only for him to get stuck inside.

Coiny had invited Pin on a proper mall date, something they hadn't done in forever. Now that TPOT was over and they were finally free to do whatever they wanted, they could hang out as much as they liked. Coiny had been buzzing about it all week, already picturing them wandering from store to store, maybe getting ice cream, maybe holding hands the whole time.

He sent her a quick text as soon as he got there: Meet me by the fountain, I'm already here.

Pin replied that she was running late, doing something with Leafy, but she'd be there soon. Cool. No problem. More time for him to prepare.

Coiny grinned to himself. Perfect... I can use this time to grab her a little surprise gift. Sliding his phone into his inventory, he strolled toward the jewelry store, already imagining a shiny bracelet with their initials engraved on it. Yesss. He was such a thoughtful, amazing boyfriend. The coolest.

But his smooth, confident stride came to an abrupt halt when he walked right into something tall, hard, and bottle-shaped.

"Oof!" He stumbled back a step, glaring up at the object. "Hey, man! Watch where you're going!"

The stranger—a whiskey bottle, by the looks of him, peered down at Coiny with an oddly satisfied smirk.

"Perfect. Just what I needed."

Before Coiny could even process that ominous statement, the whiskey bottle reached down, plucked him clean off the ground, and lifted him up. Coiny instinctively curled his arms and legs inward, force of habit when being picked up like that.

"Hey, what the—?!"

He didn't get to finish. The guy unceremoniously shoved him into a comically oversized coin slot on the front of a vending machine. Coiny yelped as he rolled down into the machine's inner workings, thumping into the main compartment where rows of snacks and drinks surrounded him.

From somewhere above, he heard a clunk, a bottle of soju had just been dispensed and was caught by the whiskey bottle, who casually twisted off the cap.

"Hey!! You can't just—!! I have a date!!" Coiny shouted, thrashing in place. "I'm not property! Get me out of here!"

He tried to wriggle free, kicking his legs and squirming, but the space was tight and the vending machine's metal walls had him locked in good. Each time he struggled, the shelves rattled with snacks, taunting him with their smug little plastic wrappers.

Somewhere out there, Pin was on her way. And here he was, stuck, humiliated, and already mentally rehearsing how in the world he was going to explain this to her.

Pin arrived at the mall with a spring in her step, a cute little crochet tote bag swinging from her arm. The bag, bright red with a plump strawberry stitched on the front, had been lovingly made by Leafy herself. Leafy walked beside her, chattering about her own plans.

They paused just outside the main entrance.

"Bye Pin! Have so much fun girl!" Leafy beamed, giving Pin a warm, squeeze-tight hug before trotting off, waving over her shoulder as she went to meet Firey.

Pin waved back, grinning wide. The second she was alone, she bounced toward the fountain at the centre of the mall, her shoes tapping lightly against the tiled floor. She half-skipped the last few steps, expecting to see Coiny waiting for her with that big grin of his.
