Pure (Albedo x reader)

Sea Legs

Continuation from Sea Breeze.

There is nothing like a crisp cup of coffee in the morning, the kind of coffee sweet enough to rot your teeth right out of your mouth. You sat across from a close friend, happily drinking your coffee while looking outside the window curiously.

"It's a pretty cold morning, did you slip on any ice on your jog earlier?" you teased as you looked back at the man across from you. His golden eyes looked up from his cup of tea, raising a brow before sighing "No, the sidewalks weren't as icy as they are now." he hummed and lifted his cup to take a sip.

"Man, what i would give to watch the cold and mean Xiao slip on a bit of ice." you joked and grinned as he shook his head, "Are you praying i get a head injury?" he retorted coolly and smiled slightly as you giggled.

"Have you gone back to that cove at all?" He inquired softly, looking up at you again, the morning sunlight reflected off of the snow and made his eyes sparkle. "Uh..weirdly enough, i've been sleeping pretty easy so i haven't needed to.." you smiled and watched his gaze move past you.

You raised a brow and narrowed your eyes, "What?" you huffed and took a sip of your coffee before looking behind you where his eyes had moved to. In the doorway of the cafe was a strangely familiar stranger, dressed in a turtleneck and a comfortable trench coat, followed by high-waisted pants and various chains attached to his belt.

It took you a spare moment before your eyes widened and you covered your mouth, managing to hold back the coffee that you were about to spew everywhere. "That looks like the guy to described to me.." Xiao whispered, his voice drawing you back to earth before Albedo could catch you staring.

Seeing your wide eyes, he could safely assume he was right "I thought you said he was a mermaid or whatever." he hummed and sipped his tea, his eyes casually following the blonde mans movements as he approached the counter. The barista even seemed shock by the beautiful man before her, there were too many good looking people in the cafe.

 "He is! Or- was..? I didn't know he could sprout legs.." You whispered, both you and Xiao leaning forward to better hear eachother. "Right..he was all shiny and stuff to you right?" although his tone didn't give it away, this was his way of teasing you.

"Ugh- well, yes, but-" You spoke with an eye roll, about to continue before the topic of conversation walked over and stood beside the table. You and Xiao looked up at him like you were two kids with your hand caught in the cookie jar.

But Xiao brushed him off, drinking his tea in silence, allowing Albedo to look at you with  a small smile "When did you sprout legs?!" you whisper yelled, making the blond man do a brief double take before he smiled.

"I've always been able to do this." he hummed and lifted up a small plastic bag, "They didn't have the larger canvas' so i will have to come back." he hummed and looked at Xiao. "Forgive me, my name's Albedo." he greeted with a soft voice, smiling slightly.

Xiao looked up at him and hummed, "Xiao." he stated simply and bit back a yawn as the hot tea was starting to make him sleepy. "Don't mind him, he's not the talkative type." you smiled and looked him up and down before leaning onto your hand.
