Fate Whispered to the warrior 'You cannot withstand the storm' and the warrior whispers back 'I am the storm'
Dawnya sat on the stone steps, staring out at the vast ruins. the pair both taking a moment to take in the breathtaking upturned tothe cloud covered sky. A sky so dense you could walk on it, and never notice the hidden city below. The blue hues, drifted downwards to the mass of stone building below. It was a shunning sight, where they the first one in hundreds of years to see the city again?
"Disappeared for 800 years the great city of Cyandia, after all this time it's still so magnificent"
"It is a beautiful sight" mutter Dawnya. As robin spoke beside her, taking in the sights and reading the scribbles on the wall.
"This is the golden city cyandia"
"Isn't it missing something?" Dawnya wondered after a time enjoying the sights. Why was it call the golden city? Maybe that was the something lost in time. Eyes filtered to the older women – robin would figure it out.
Robin hummed in agreement before started her journey down into ruins. The wind women quick to follow. The pair began their wander, she could almost hear the echos of voices and laugher on the long dead citizens as she tried to make sense of it all. she took a path to the left, as something glittered in the corner of her eye. Surveying the floor for the source of the light.
She hummed under her breath, the flaps on her mask shuttering as she eyes the metal lines in the ground. It looked newer but she couldn't be sure. Seeing as the lines, tracks almost were overgrown with plants and broken much like everything else around her.
Dawnya heard a gasp from her position, robin had found something it seemed. She popped over to the archaeologist. "I never would have thought that. There would be completely untouched poneglyhs here..."
Dawnya glanced towards the large stone with square like text; trying to commit it to memory. These are what her crewmate was looking for – if was could help she would. Anyway possible. "There creators of those writing were the only one who could us them... 'truth in the heart and the mouth sealed we are those who record history. Together with the sound of the great belfry..." Dawnya listened to robin as she traced the glyphs speaking the translation loud for her. She didn't understand a world that was coming out of the raven-haired women mouth.
"that's right Noland 's diary said..." robin continued to mutter to herself as she wrote down notes.
Dawnya cocked her head in confusion – a prickling feeling appeared at the back on her neck as she glanced around, something was out there, watching she could feel it. Her eyes narrowed as the feeling only grew. Robin had figured something out, something again a belfry and the thing was missing...
"yahahaha! Amazing, isn't it?" an unknown male voice called out, catching the females attention.
The male was pale skinned, wiry build yet you could see the muscle in his well-toned body. He was curled up in a relaxed crouched position. Dawnya had no doubt when the male would stand straight, he be very tall – taller that all those in the crew. He had blond hair and stretched ear lobes that strung down to his waist.
But it was the large grey ring that seemed to be stuck in his back – attached to it were four wooden drums with unknown symbols drawn on in black.
Dawnya tense, hand ready on her blade at the unknown topless male not liking the cockily smile on his face. "This city has kept its splendour even after being blasted into the sky. The magnificent Shandora. The poor city was hidden in clouds with no one to admire it. I was the one who discovered it. My foolish predecessors had no idea of its existence." the man continued to speak without a care in the world.
So, they weren't the first to rediscover the city. Thats a shame.
"And you are?" robin asked.
"god"
She fully turned towards the man named 'god' so this was man that caused all these issues and deaths.
"I'm impressed, you are an archaeologist from the blue sea, right?" the man 'god' stated, his eyes leering at robin, completely ignoring her presence. "It took us several months to fine these ruins was the process simplified by your ability to read those writhing?" he didn't wait for an answer just kept speaking. "Unfortunately, the gold you seek is gone. You are a few years too late..."
She knew it, something was missing! Her face stayed blank before her foe, trying to figure out the gameplan if there even was one.
"The gold. Now that you mention it, I didn't see it anywhere. You are the one who took it aren't you?" robin questioned the man.
"Yes, I am. That shinning material quite suits me."
"So, you took the golden bell too?"
Silence...
Dawnya glanced at robin.
He didn't take the bell then. The bell it still missing somewhere, hopefully somewhere up here with them.
"Very interesting what did you learn by reading those runes?"
"Nothing new unfortunately if it wasn't when you arrived then the bell probably didn't reach the sky" robin admitted, her face in a mask of neutral.
She felt a shift in the air, Dawnya glanced about trying to figure out the cause, was it from the battle above? There were clashes drifting on the small currents of air that drifted towards them. Her brows furrowed slightly, as she tried to concentrate on the sounds – God's eyes flickered to her for a moment before back towards robin.
"The shandorains were really proud of their golden bell and the belfry it was in the, but I was rather interested in the belfry-"
"-Wait" God cut robin off a frowned pulled at his lips, "it is! It's here it did get to the sky"
It was? Dawnya was lost she felt like a specular watching swordsmen's trading blows. A show she was unsure of the outcome.
"400 years ago, when upper yarn was born. Thats is when this island was blown into the sky. A ringing sound of the bell was heard thought-out the country. The old man here calls it the song of the island. So, this bell was made of gold!"
"Fascinating! As soon as the game is over" Dawnya frowned at the man, game? "That is in 8 minutes. I'll just look around this place!" the man let out a laugh, eyes flittering between the two pirates before a tilt of the head he continued making no sense. "Oh! It seems that a bug has reached the edge of the island"
Dawnya let something travel speed though the winds before it was gone out of her range. It cocked her head to the side – trying to place the strange sensation. The man known as God turned his attention back towards the pair, his eye pinning on the swordswomen for a moment a curious look flashing pass his face before the smirk grew.
"let's bring the party to us, shall we?"
Huh? It was safe to say Dawnya was more than a little confused, with the back and forth of the god and robin but didn't want to interrupt the man who was willingly giving them (robin) answers.
She felt the static on the air, a sudden increase in electricity on the air and then nothing. The feeling of lighting raced passed her skin as a wave of unwanted memories surged. God in front of them stood up, hand pointing up release a lighting into the sky and clouds above them...
Dawnya eyes widen.
Everything clicking into place.
God, it turns out was actually a devil fruit user.
