Chapter 45

Ely POV

We all stood down and looked up. Sakura was the first to call up. 'Naruto? Is that really you, Naruto?' The person turned to us. 'When did you get back?' Naruto jumped down to us. He walked straight to Sakura. 'Long time no see, Sakura.' I'll give them that moment. 'You're taller than me and you've changed. Do you think I've become more feminine?' 'It's all good. You haven't changed a bit.' I had to stifle a laugh. 'Sakura, I don't think he's changed after all.' Naruto turned round to face me. 'Who are you?' Seriously? I'm the only redhead he knows, and he doesn't know who I am. Is this guy out of his mind?

I walked up to him and hit him on the head and then walked away. Really, I don't have to put up with that.

Naruto POV

'Ouch, what was that?' 'You're really stupid.' 'Who was that?' 'Seriously Naruto. You don't recognise your best friend anymore?' My eyes widened. That was Ely? She's grown taller, prettier, more feminine and her bust size. 'You pervert!' 'I haven't done anything.' 'You're blushing and I can imagine what's going through your head.' I had to scratch the back of my head in embarrassment.

Ely POV

Oh man, he's only changed on the outside. I walked back to my apartment and went into the kitchen. Let's see if I need to do any shopping. 'Shouldn't you be getting to the Hokagetower? I know you're going to train with Sakura and Naruto to see how they've progressed.' 'I still have some time.' I had to roll my eyes. 'You and those perverted books. Maybe Jiraiya wrote a new one while he was at it?' No sooner had I said my sentence than he was gone. I could only shake my head.

Where were I? Ah... Thank goodness my fridge is full. At that moment, I heard a soft knock and looked towards the window. A crow was sitting there. A message from Sasuke. I opened the window and took the message. I gave the crow something to eat and then sat down on the couch to read the message. So, he wanted to meet me at our spot tonight. I wouldn't be told twice.

I was glad that Naruto was back in the village, but I was also a little afraid of what was to come. It wasn't lost on me that Akatsuki was after him like that and had already captured other Bijuu spirits. They mustn't get their hands on Naruto. I must be able to help somehow. I knew that my Sharingan could control the Kyuubi, which could come in handy if he got out of control again. I walked into my bedroom and looked for something to wear. Then I took a shower, changed and set off.

Outside, I walked through the streets. It was already starting to get dark and would soon be. That meant training should have already started. Show them what you can do Sakura; I firmly believe in you.

I'd better get a move on. So, I started to run. When I arrived at our spot, I realised that he wasn't there yet. That's strange. But what should I do? I stood at the edge and watched the stars. My mind wandered. Did he really not recognise me, or was he just pretending? Didn't he think I was pretty? It hurt that he didn't recognise me and that I didn't know why. Maybe I should have given him the chance to say something. He really should have recognised me, or how many girls with red hair does he know?

The stars are so beautiful today. They really shine. I love the tranquillity of the night and nature. Where is he? Suddenly my eyes were covered. 'Have you missed me?' When he said this, I felt completely different. How much I missed this. I turned round and looked into his eyes. 'You made me wait a long time.' 'I'm sorry.'

We kissed as a greeting. I realised that something was on his mind, and I had to find out what it was.
