Chapter 33

Ely POV

The letter would have to wait for now, I absolutely had to go to the hospital and check whether my gut feeling had not deceived me. I put the letter in my bag and set off straight away. It wasn't long before I arrived at the hospital and ran straight in. What I didn't expect was that Sakura came running towards me. 'Ely, there you are. I'm so glad to see you.' I could see the marks left by her tears. What was going on here? 'Sakura, what's going on? I've just come back from my mission, and I have such a bad feeling.' Before Sakura could even begin to answer me, a Medic-Nin came running round the corner. Out of breath, he started talking. 'Lady Senju, we need your help. Quick!' I ran right along with the medic-nin because he looked really exhausted. My thoughts were currently, I think, only on repeat. What the hell was going on here?

'Ely, I'm so glad you're here. You know doujutsu better than I do. There's a badly injured Neji in the room behind me. Please do what you can to help him.' I just nodded to Tsunade and ran straight into the room. My hair was already in a high ponytail. I quickly put on my gloves and ran towards Neji. When I reached him, I opened his eyes with my fingers and examined them closely. 'I need Shizune and two more Medic-Nins and I need them fast!' The Medic-Nin next to me ran out of the room in search of Shizune. It wasn't long before Shizune was standing in the room. 'Ely, how can I help you?' 'We have to perform a jutsu that uses a lot of chakra. One person is not enough.' I turned to the other Medic-Nins in the room and began to speak. 'Please take Neji to the dark room, where we will perform this jutsu.' Everyone nodded and we made our way to the room.

Once there, Neji was placed in the centre and Shizune, two other Medic-Nins and me sat down in a circle around Neji. I quickly explained the finger signs and how they worked and then we began. We formed the finger signs at the same time and a green circle formed around Neji. We had to hold the last finger sign and put all our chakra into this jutsu. It will be a long procedure, but it will help him. In the meantime, Shizune and the other two were relieved by other Medic-Nins as their chakra was quite low. I was able to stay seated, as my Uzumaki origin helps me a lot.

A whole four hours later, the procedure was over, and Neji was out of the woods. He was now taken to a normal hospital room. I went to a quiet place to rest. My chakra was now pretty much at its end. I noticed someone sitting down next to me, but I was honestly too lazy to turn round. 'You were great, Ely. I hope to be as good as you one day.' 'Thank you, Sakura. I'm pretty drained and worn out now, too.' 'I'm sure you are. I've brought you something to eat and drink.' I gratefully took the things from Sakura's hands and started to eat and drink something. 'Thank you, Sakura, I really needed that. Tell me, what happened here?' 'It's terrible, Ely. Sasuke has left the village. He went to Orochimaru to get stronger. He just left. Shikamaru went after him with a team consisting of Kiba, Choji, Neji and Naruto to stop him. Shikamaru thankfully came back with minor injuries, but the other three weren't so lucky. Naruto, he fought Sasuke and couldn't convince him to come back. Ely, he's gone.' So that's what had happened. 'Oh, Sakura, I'm so sorry. I know how much Sasuke means to you. But...' I couldn't finish the sentence because Sakura interrupted me directly. 'Sasuke has become a good friend, but nothing more. I've realised that this fangirling was absolutely pointless.' I looked at Sakura in surprise. 'Sakura. I thought you loved him?' 'Oh no. I know he had developed feelings for someone, and that person is definitely not me. Well, I'm glad he has a crush on someone I also know very well.' Huh? 'Really, Ino will be happy about that.' 'Oh man. No, you idiot. I'm talking about you. He's got a crush on you.' Is she totally crazy now?

Shortly afterwards, Sakura disappeared again and left me alone with my thoughts, which now wandered back to the letter in my bag. I was just about to take it out when someone came walking towards me.
