Chapter 25

Ely POV

A few days have passed since the funeral, and I was just sitting on the soft grass in my favorite clearing. Naruto was traveling with Jiraiya and if I heard correctly, Sasuke was following them. His brother and his partner were here in Konoha two days ago and had a fight with Kurenei, Asuma, Kakashi and Guy. Kakashi was still in the hospital because Itachi had really hurt him with his genjutsu. I heard footsteps coming towards me, but I didn't turn around because I knew the chakra. "Hello Sakura, is everything alright? Can I help you?" "Hello Ely, can I sit with you?" "Of course." I looked at her and smiled briefly.

Sakura POV

"I'm worried. This rivalry between Sasuke and Naruto is getting worse and worse, and I'm just as worried about Sasuke's curse mark." "I understand that. I've also noticed that it's gotten worse since the chunin exams. That can't be healthy or beneficial." I could see the worry on Ely's face, which was also visible on mine. "Do you have any idea what I can do?" "To be honest, no. I've never experienced anything like this. Nao and Ryoko were one heart and one soul and all the other genin in our group weren't that keen on rivalry." "Maybe it'll die down again. I'll just wait a little longer. Let's see what else the two of them come up with. Have you heard anything about who's going to be the new Hokage?" "Unfortunately, not. We haven't heard anything yet, but there are a few candidates. How is Lee doing?" "At the moment, it looks like he'll never be able to work as a shinobi again. He's incredibly sad about it, of course. He may be really weird, but he loves what he does. He's worked so hard to be where he is."

Ely POV

I had already tried to help, but the Medic-Nins think I'm far too inexperienced. But they also don't know that I was trained by Tsunade. Sometimes it's really annoying that people only see my age, but that I have the desired experience is skillfully overlooked. AGH! I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice Sakura saying something to me. She noticed and nudged me. I looked at her questioningly. "I asked you if we wanted to visit Sensei Kakashi?" "Of course. Let's go see him." Together with Sakura, I made my way to the hospital. I opened the door to Kakashi's hospital room and stepped inside. "You really can't put that book down. Now you're lying here in the hospital, and you really need to read this stuff." "Hello Ely. Hello Sakura. Can I help you?" "We wanted to visit you, Niichan."

Sakura and I each took a chair and sat down next to the bed. "How are you, Kakashi-sensei?" "I'm already feeling better. I didn't think it would have such an effect on me." I listened to the conversation between Kakashi and Sakura and after a while Sakura said goodbye and I was now alone with Kakashi. "That was risky, Kakashi." "I know, Ely. What would have been the alternative? Hand Naruto over to the two of them or reveal to Itachi that there's another Uchiha?" Kakashi always worries about the people who are close to him. He's right. "You're right about that, but it's so dangerous to go up against Itachi. His genjutsus are very strong." I'm just worried about him. I can't lose him.

"You won't lose me. I'm like a weed, because it won't go away." Through his mask, I could see the smile forming on his lips. "You're a real jerk sometimes, Niichan, but I love you very much." I hope Naruto is okay and I hope Sasuke doesn't do anything stupid.
