Ely POV

It had been a few days since the mission, and I was watching the third round of the chunin exams. Naruto survived the first round with a lot of luck, because let's be honest, he was the weakest link in this one. There were a few problems in the second round and both Naruto and Sasuke were knocked out. Sakura has outgrown herself. She has great potential, more than she realises. Sakura currently had to fight a duel against Ino, but it didn't look very good for her. But what worried me more was that Kakashi hadn't come back with Sasuke yet. Something wasn't right.

Naruto looked like he couldn't wait to get down there himself. I wouldn't have expected it any other way from him. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't realise how the duel between Sakura and Ino ended. Oops. My luck was that the two men next to me were talking about it. A draw, but still both out. Sakura not only excelled in the second round, but also in the third. It was amazing. Before it was even Naruto's turn, I walked out of the building. I had such a strange feeling. What was going on?

My path inadvertently led me to training ground 4. My hand gripped Shisui's necklace, which I had in my pocket. I took it out and looked at it. Shisui always said that I was an Uchiha, but I always said that although I have the Sharingan and my father was an Uchiha, I'm definitely not one. I'm a Senju and I'm more than just proud of it. He always sulked about this statement, but also understood that knowing the reason for my parents' deaths and that the Uchiha clan was behind it had distanced me from the clan. He was the only one from the clan who knew who I really was. Nao and Ryoko knew too, and I can still remember them both saying at the beginning that they would protect me. I miss the three of them so much. My heart tightened painfully, and tears ran down my cheeks.

My thoughts suddenly wandered to the blonde-haired, hyperactive ninja who always managed to put a smile on my face. He knew nothing about my surname or that I had mastered the Sharingan. Then there was my big brother Kakashi. He was always so worried about me. It was kind of cute, but sometimes it was also annoying because he would always look at me so strangely and think I didn't notice. Oh, what would I do without the two of them.

I looked up at the clouds and realised that I'd probably been here far too long. This was confirmed when Kakashi came walking towards me. 'There you are, Ely. I thought you wanted to watch the third round?' 'Yeah, I wanted to, but I had a funny feeling and ended up here. I miss the three of them.' Tears ran down my cheeks again. 'Then you'll never forget them either. It's okay to miss people you loved and who meant a lot to you, otherwise something would have gone completely wrong. What do you say we meet at the Memorial Stone later?' 'Let's meet there. I can imagine what you're up to.'

I set off and was literally knocked over by someone. 'I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. Is everything all right? I didn't see you.' 'Everything's fine.' I got up from the ground and was a little taken aback by the waterfall of words. My counterpart looked at me in a waiting manner. 'Is everything all right with you? Can I help you?' 'You're Ely, right? I've always wanted to talk to you, but I never dared. I was afraid you might not want to talk to someone as weak as me.'

Oh dear, do I make such an impression that I can't be talked to?

Quick info: I changed the Ely Senju chapter so that it only applies to Naruto. Once I get to Naruto Shippuden with the events, I'll either start a new book in the story with a separate Ely Senju chapter or a second Ely Senju chapter in this one.
